NCAA Football Coaching Vacancies

-He's an arrogant douche

-Only sees college football as a stepping stone

-Instead of focusing on his own program, he tries to just tear everyone else down

-His negative recruiting tactics

-He employs a recruiting strategy that isn't at all fair to the kids who receive offers from them and doesn't establish relationships and then fails to develop their talent.

-He's an arrogant douche

-He accepted a generous gift from a donor to pay for a private bathroom at the same time Stanford was cutting athletic programs and saw nothing wrong with it.

-And now the anti-gay slur

Not gonna lie, I care about none of that right now.

Seriously, that is a ridiculous list.

Harbaugh to the NFL? Too many transitional failures of very good college coaches switching to the nfl(nfl teams are wary of this). I see him leaving Stanford but not for the NFL. Anyway id rather be a Bob Stoops, Urban Meyer, Petey C. CNS(ya'll like that dont ya), et al and have my job secure for 10 years and get paid like and NFL coach. Screw going to NFL if you can rock n roll in college.

ESPN's Andy Staples just Tweeted that Virginia will introduce Richmond head coach Mike London as their new head man on Monday afternoon.

I was about to make a "If you can't beat him, hire him as your head coach" joke but then I looked it up and found out that it was William and Mary that beat Virginia while Richmond beat Duke. Mixing up my CAA and ACC teams.

seems fairly risky (london has only been a head coach for 2 years, both of those at richmond) but i have a feeling he'll be a good hire. i wonder if he'll stay on and coach richmond the rest of the way in the i-aa playoffs.

This is either sarcasm or you missed the end of the Richmond-App St. game on Saturday.

There's always the challenge of being able to win at the very highest level. Lots of coaches are egomaniacs that can't resist the temptation. Steve Spurrier and Nick Saban for example. What does Urban Myer have to prove at Florida?

That he can win without the son of God.

Evidently Houston Nutt has expressed interest in the KU job. Thoughts, SEC fans? Isn't he kind of crazy? Is he just using this to leverage a raise out of Ole Miss?

http://www.kansascity.com/166/story/1616064.html

That paper's source is an Arkansas radio station. I'd imagine this is Bravo Sierra. Kansas would be a downgrade at this point anyways considering that the program is on the rise and we've got some of the best new facilities in the whole country. So going there wouldn't make much sense. He's already making 2.5 million in Oxford. Plus his daughters are both Ole Miss students and he's got a massive ass ranch outside the city. He'll probably have to be fired before he'd leave.

And if he wants a raise then he can go F himself. However, I highly doubt the validity of this story considering the source.

maybe this squashes it...but who knows when it comes to this type of stuff. Tommy Tuberville's statement when he was rumored to be going to Auburn was "the only way I leave Oxford is in a pine box".

Ole Miss Head Coach Houston Nutt:

"I continue to appreciate the ongoing support of Chancellor Dan Jones and Athletics Director Pete Boone. We came to Ole Miss committed to building the type program that our fans deserve. Ole Miss is a great university and the quality of life in Oxford is the envy of others. I can't think of anywhere else we would like to be. There are so many positives here, and we're excited about the direction of the program. Our players are also excited and the response we are receiving from recruits and their parents is most gratifying. We appreciate the interest Kansas showed in our staff, but we are happy at Ole Miss and looking forward to the AT&T Cotton Bowl."

Charlie Strong will be the next coach at Louisville.

The school has called a meeting of the personnel committee of the Louisville Athletic Association board of directors for Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. ET, where the board will be asked to approve the hiring of Strong. Louisville athletic director Tom Jurich has scheduled a 4 p.m. ET news conference.

My condolences snood.

I don't think we're really looking at him. I think he's trying to leverage a raise.

I take it back. maybe he is a candidate. which sucks.

According to ESPN, the finalists are Holtz, Gill, Brewster, and Butch Jones. Of that, I'd want Holtz or Gill.

Yeah, I'd probably prefer Holtz and Gill out of that group. Though Butch Jones is an interesting candidate.
