Literally nothing good has happened since Miles entered this game.

U mean nothing good has happened since he came off the DL, right?

Aaron Miles was recalled Augst 5, 2009. The Cubs were in first place, tied with the Cardinals

wow

just wow

I've never hated a baseball player. I mean really hated a player until now...

Question to all the "that's the season" folk. What makes this game any different than either SD game or any other terrible game we've played this year?

it's presently happening?

Why did they pull Gorzelanny after 5?

It was because Lou wanted Aaron Miles to bat. Stupid on so many levels.

1) Aaron Miles is horrible

2) Gorzolanny has 2 RBIs in 3 starts for the Cubs; Miles has 3 RBIs all season

3) Even if the move did work, Lou was playing for one run (becuase with Miles SLG there was no way the runner at first would have scored), so basically he was trusting his middle relief, which has been shaky all year, to protect a 1 run lead for 4 innings against a pretty good offense.

4) Stupid Lou

It isn't his fault that he sucks.

I would love to see a WWE style thing once Ricketts becomes owner and becomes Vince McMachon like and sets up a press conference televised and goes " Jim and Lou, YOUR FIRED! "

7 games back. This team isn't capable of erasing that type of lead.

But we were capable of coming back from 6?

Guzman's really starting to regress.

But, but, people want him to close. :-))

If he can stay healthy, I still think he will be very good. He's got great stuff and seems to have a pretty good presence on the mound. I think he generally knows what he wants to do, but as a young pitcher can't always execute. He is learning to pitch at the major league level this year, so he will get knocked around for a little while.

Been that kind of season when Brendan Ryan hits a grand slam in San Diego and Angel Guzman gives up a grand slam in L.A. within an hour of each other.

So to this point Miles is being paid $833,333.33 per RBI? Awesome!

Not really. However, when you're a Cubs fan, you get this feeling when you know it's over. This team doesn't have much heart and they have absolutely no leadership.

I think people were praying to somehow pickup a game or two this weekend. 4 games back with games in hand and three against STL isn't so bad. Tonight was an important night because the Dodgers have not been playing well and many felt this is one of the games we had the pitching advantage.

So if Terry Boers' sources are correct, how much longer before Lou quits?

Do tell. I mean, I fully expect Lou to run and hide after this season, but sooner???

It was a lot of speculation, but the discussion was that Lou is very frustrated and could possibly step down as soon as the Cubs are mathematically eliminated. He said it is pretty much a foregone conclusion that he won't be back next year.

Phillies were not playing well when they came to Wrigley. Padres were not playing well coming into the last series. Dodgers were not playing well coming into this series. If you want to break out of your slumps, schedule the Cubs!

I can see that. Lou looks like he did in his last year in Tampa. He clearly isn't managing worth a damn and he and Hendry are most certainly not on the same page.
