Don't understand why Maddon tried to get 2 innings out of Edwards; I was tweeting after the 6th wondering if he would go with Strop or Monty in the 7th so imagine my surprise when Edwards was back out there. He only went 2 innings one time all year and that was back on July 31; since then his longest stint I believe was 1.1 so that was a puzzling move for sure.

Think he needs to pick up his pace over the last 46 games; 3 homers and only 7 rbi's since the All Star Break but the batting average I think has actually been pretty good. I love Kris as a player but an MVP probably should be better than 1 for 11 with the bases loaded on the season.

6 K's in the last 2 games for Bryant; he's been really good at not chasing this year and the last 2 days he's chased a lot of pitches out of the zone. Let's hope this is just a blip and not the start of a slump.

Maybe it's just me but Maddon has made some really curious decisions over the last week or so and i'm not sure why LaStella wasn't in the lineup tonight instead of Baez.

0 for 25 leading off innings and have not had a lead for a single inning this series; how on Earth is this possible? The Mets have caught lightning in a bottle while we have crapped all over ourselves but I will be here tomorrow night in front of my tv until the final damn out.

On the plus side Bryant hit the ball well tonight now if only some other guys would step up.

Has Maddon said why he didn't use Bryant or Montero today? There is no rational excuse for using Ross in the 8th inning even if the Cards have a lefty on the mound; probably his worst managed game of the season today

Losing Soler has more of an effect than people realize because it pushes some bench players into starting roles and they are not starters by any stretch of the imagination; same thing happened when he missed the month of June

This team just doesn't match up well with any kind of left handed power arm; definitely need to upgrade with another RH bat this offseason. Denorfia is a decent player but having him bat 2nd is not a good situation at all

I was reading the ESPN game preview this morning and they were trying to make our winning streak seem not so impressive by saying most of the pitchers we have beaten are bad; I don't care who is pitching it's pretty hard to win 15 of 16 in this league. Fowler has been very underwhelming as a leadoff hitter and Addy in the 9 hole just ain't working either; not really sure what the answer is but that's why Joe gets paid the big bucks to figure out how to fix this.

Still wondering about pitch selection by Rondon in the 10th; the guy before Goldy got a slider when he should have thrown fastball then Goldy gets a fastball after looking like crap on a slider on the pitch before; those are things that just can't happen.

I'm a little concerned that he isn't catching up to even average fastballs lately; he's had a few good pitches to hit the last week and he's fouling everything off so let's hope he gets it straightened out soon
