Had a lot of people ripping me when I was talking about the 'inconsistency' of the offense. What do you know, the Cubs don't hit homers, they don't win...

Living and dying with the homer = being bounced in the playoffs again (if you we even make it this year)...

Last year the Cubs had zero 30-homer hitters and had the best offense in the majors, but that's unusual. I'd love to see some more homers.

Im basing this on them being the Cubs, and Carpenter being an ace. However the Cubs main guys in their offense have hit Carpenter pretty damn good. Surprisingly.

I'm scared the next 4 days could be long ones for me here in STL...I've got very little confidence in the team right now...

I have HR derby tickets in the LF bleachers for Monday...that may be the best thing baseball wise that happens in the next few weeks

I'll be optimistic and say we split at the very least, and maybe take three of four. This team always seems to play well in important regular season games. Its not really a surprise they treated the Atlanta series like a vacation between the Milwaukee and St. Louis series. That said, I think we lose today's game, but I like our chances over the weekend.

I think it's funny that Milton or Soriano isn't playing everyday.

Here's the Cards line-up, for the record.

Schumaker 4

Rasmus 8

Pujols 3

Ludwick 9

Ankiel 7

Then you have bad preferences because Johnson is still in your lineup vs. a RH pitcher.
