Do you not think this team needs a spark? Yes/No?

Please define what the hell your definition of "spark" is that includes taking out our top OBP guy for a career minor leaguer, and not even a good one at that.

Also, to answer, No. We need to start hitting better. Soto's, Bradley's, Fukudome's, and Soriano's at bats have absolutely nothing to do with what some other guy does at the plate.

How would a bad AAA player provide a spark?

WOW!! Just WOW! Did you watch the game tonight?

IT WAS ONE GAME. How the hell was he the "spark" over, say, Lee? Or Fukudome? Or Wells?

I've been wanting Soriano on the DL for weeks now because it seems like his knee is really effecting his game. I don't mind Fuld getting in there for some starts or as a late inning defensive replacement or pinch-runner, but even then I'd rather have Hoffpauir out there on a regular basis if Soriano is going to be sat for more games or DLed.

Ok, So Fukudome has a good game after being pathetic for over a month and basically a whole year, yet he's the guy we keep going with?

Neat! Once again, I never said to never let him play again. I said the guy sucks and needs to find himself. Funny, everyone else in the organization feels that way about him as well. They are bringing in the Japanese instructors again, so he obviously is lost.

Hollandsworth said he was a spark as well. Let me guess, he has no idea what he is talking about, right?

See, it's funny because you can put Fuld's name in there instead of Fukudome's and the first part would be just as true. Fuld put up a 627 OPS last year in AAA. 627.

Apparently he found himself tonight huh. And yes you keep playing the guy who has a track record in Japan, and hit the [expletive] out of the ball in April, over the career AAA player with a crap OPS in his career.

This is the bigs, not Japan. Tell me, how is is that most people in and around major league baseball think the guy is a BIG bust? Hmm, maybe it's his numbers? Just a hunch.

I'm withholding judgment til Mickey Morandini weighs in.

What if both Brenly and Hollandsworth were up for manager? How would he choose?

Todd can help Fuld form the best OF in years.

I blame Lou, and the 'gut' lineups he trots out there. While I like Fuld's energy and hustle, he isn't a leadoff hitter, especially at the ML level. With Soriano out, you gotta put Theriot and Fukudome up there.

Personally, I go with a lineup, AND KEEP IT for a streak of games to let the hitters acclimate. How do you expect Fukudome to adjust when he's bouncing around the lineup every single day.

Good job by Fuld today. I keep starting him and riding the lightening until it runs out though. Let Soriano have the rest, and a good seat watching somebody play his position the RIGHT way...

If there was ever a time to say "cubs.com is that way," this is definitely it. People come to NSBB to avoid garbage like this.

You've convinced me. And since we're on the subject, why not trade for this young man:

Imagine a Fuld/Eckstein combo at the top of the lineup. That's enough spark to light up every street north of Congress.
