    WOW!! Just WOW! Did you watch the game tonight? IT WAS ONE GAME. How the hell was he the "spark" over, say, Lee? Or Fukudome? Or Wells? I've been wanting Soriano on the DL for weeks now because it seems like his knee is really effecting his game. I don't mind Fuld getting in there for some starts or as a late inning defensive replacement or pinch-runner, but even then I'd rather have Hoffpauir out there on a regular basis if Soriano is going to be sat for more games or DLed. Hollandsworth said he was a spark as well. Let me guess, he has no idea what he is talking about, right? yep I'll go with Todd over you, sorry.

    This is the bigs, not Japan. Tell me, how is is that most people in and around major league baseball think the guy is a BIG bust? Hmm, maybe it's his numbers? Just a hunch.

    Ok, So Fukudome has a good game after being pathetic for over a month and basically a whole year, yet he's the guy we keep going with? Neat! Once again, I never said to never let him play again. I said the guy sucks and needs to find himself. Funny, everyone else in the organization feels that way about him as well. They are bringing in the Japanese instructors again, so he obviously is lost.

    By being white and cheap. And getting on base 3 times and setting the tone as well. Nice job, Sam. Like Hollandsworth said, keep him in the lineup.

    Not his fault. Well actually, his 758 OPS in AAA didn't exactly scream "Call me up!", so yeah, it was kinda his fault. Notice how Fox (and Blanco, and Scales) put up good numbers and got called up a lot earlier. Also, in Scales' first 6 games he had a 1307 OPS. Guess we should have just given him the third base spot "for good" and let Fox rot down in AAA right? No, we should just let the overpaid, mediocrity continue to roam the outfield. :good: Please explain to me how overpaid mediocrity is worse than cheap mediocrity? Again, they get paid the same playing or riding the bench. Also, since this thread is about Fukudome, we can talk about how his "mediocre" MAJOR LEAGUE numbers this year are much better than Sam "should be the leadoff hitter for good" Fuld's AAA numbers. Do you not think this team needs a spark? Yes/No?

    Not his fault. Yes, it is. It's his fault for not being good enough to deserve more. And Fukodome, Bradley and Soriano have been? lolol.

Nice to hear a respected, ex big leaguer back it up as well. Oh give me a break. The guy has floated around AAA opsing in the .700's for two or three years now. He's not that good. He had a good game. But since he's a "hustler" and a "gamer" (and, "White") he's suddenly the 'spark' on this team? Give me a break. I'm glad he had a good game, but let's not get carried away here. Carried away? He provided a spark. I never said he was the greatest player in the bigs. It's comical, though, that someone can thoroughly suck as bad as Fukudome has, yet have this over the top love on this board. It's very much like Corey Patterson had it here. And how's Corey doing these days?

    My, you are just full of declarations. Hey, he's been as good as anyone in that rotation. Of course others have the ace label on our staff, but Wells has been the best of them all.
