  1. Should be leading off for good.. I know no one is used to seeing out leadoff man get on base, but that's how it's done. Just so I understand your logic here, you make fun of the rest of us for celebrating a single good game for Fukudome, and supposedly ignoring his bad RBI numbers (of all stats), yet one game of Fuld, after basically years of subpar output in the minor leagues, should be our lead off hitter for good. One game of Fukudome: Who cares? He doesn't get RUNS BATTED IN One game of Fuld: Leadoff hitter for good That about right? No, not at all. C'mon, seriously now. ANYONE involved with the Cubs have been pulling their hair out with Fukudome for a long time now. Of course Fuld doesn't have the at bats, but could it be that the kid MIGHT, just MIGHT add some life to a team that needs it? Just sayin.
  2. Should be leading off for good.. I know no one is used to seeing out leadoff man get on base, but that's how it's done. Weren't you just complaining about people saying good things about kosuke after one good game? You know Fuld was OPSing in the .700's in AAA, right? Ummm, Kosuke has sucked for four of his 5 of his last 7 months in the bigs. BIG sample size there.

  4. Just making sure the same rules apply to all posters. :cool:Don't worry about them.Don't worry about me. I doubt that will be a problem. Yet I get quoted by both of you every minute. :rotfl: Carry on.

  7. You're going to be here so long. Did I say something wrong? I don't see any personal attacks. Better keep it that way. Is that for everyone on the board?
  8. As we all know, those are the best stats to show how valuable a player is. 0 HR and 3 RBI for June. A below .150 batting avg. How about those stats?

  10. I find it HILARIOUS (And I mean knee slap hilarious) that someone in the outfield FINALLY produces a decent game and everyone here comes up with the snide comments. That's rich considering he now has 6 HR and what, 24 RBI? :good:
  11. Pigs are flying. That's one more HR than last month. All star! :pig:
  12. Because Soriano wouldn't have made that throw, amirite?! Soriano would have had the ball go through his legs. Furthermore, I want Fuld out there for Fukudome until he learns how to hit again.
  13. Pats self on back with my Fuld comments from yesterday.
  14. Once again, show me ANY team that has won the WS that wasn't talented. This is just a ridiculous stance to take. "Oh, Brenly had a good team, so that's why he won". But your stance is they won because he personally figured out a way to maximize their scoring chances. Why did they stop maximizing a couple years later? LOL! I NEVER said that the D-Backs won because of Brenly. I said that he is a guy who's teams ( when they have talent like any other good team) play smart, sound baseball. He's also a well balanced manager as far as when and when not to play small ball, which the 2001 D-Backs perfectly prove. What teams? He has managed one team. He won one WS, then shortly after his team got really bad and he's done nothing but rant and rave about making things happen on the basepaths in a booth. Are you telling me that Brenly doesn't know what he's talking about in the booth? He seems to be spot on almost all the time.
  15. You know he wouldn't? What crystal ball do you use? I know he won't because baseball lineups aren't machines. They can't be finely tuned. They will win or lose based on the players on the field. BS! If you don't think a managers in game decision making is important, well, I can't even begin to understand that logic.

  19. you certainly showed us No, the stats did. But hey, keep preaching. No, they didn't. Yes, they did. I posted enough stats about the 2001 D-Backs to destroy the myth that Brenly is overly nutty about small ball. He's a good manager and you're inability to see that is rather obvious.

  21. Because in Basball, you fail far more then you succeed. If you at least have productive outs, where you are hitting the ball to the right side to move the runner to third with a man on second and no outs, you're chances of scoring have increased by giving an out for a base. All the next guy has to do is out the ball in play, rather to HAVE TO get a hit to score that run. The Cubs have been so bad in this area and it's costs them a lot of wins because of the inibility to play fundamental baseball. Brenly is all about fundamental baseball, which, IMO, translates to winning baseball. Having good players translates to winning baseball. Brenly had a pretty good offensive roster anchored by one of the best 1-2 starting pitchers in baseball history. Dusty Baker could have lead that team to the championship. No way Baker could have. Sure he could have. If his bullpen hadn't blown a 5 run lead late in game 6 of the 2002 World Series, he would have rode the best recent offensive player to a championship. He'd have no problems riding Schilling and Johnson at their best to a championship. Are we talking about the same Dusty Baker who blew the 2002 WS?
  22. http://www.straitpinkie.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/lenbob.jpg Len: "Bob, many of the posters on NSBB don't like your managing style". Bob: "Well, they don't know what they're talking about, so lets move on".
