  1. This I agree with. All series should be 7 games.
  2. As they should be. They talked all season long about how they had a "bad taste" in their mouth from last year. They said this year would be different and it's the same old chit. The players they have, unless they can rally and win this thing have proven to be spineless when the playoffs come around. Soriano Lee A-Ram Demp Theriot Soto All of these guys crapped the bed last year and nothing has changed.
  3. When 2 runs score with 3 outs having already been made, yes, we're going to get pissed at the umps. Get pissed at the crap offense, not the umps. There was no concrete evidence that the tag was applied before he got to the bag. Meanwhile, Edmonds and Derosa with worm killers in the infield. This team is choking, period!
  4. If we don't with this game, what I have learned is that Soriano can never leadoff again. He's crapped his pants in the postseason for 2 straight years in that spot. I also have learned that if we don't find a left handed bat, we are going to see the same movie again next year. When Fukodome was hitting, we were pretty much unstoppable.
  5. Stop blaming the umps! This team has crapped it's pants in every facet of the game in the playoffs the last 2 years.
  6. You mean you are allowed to have guys in scoring position with less then 2 outs in Baseball?
  7. I emailed the Cubs on this fact and they have yet to respond. They should have done something. Rally towels are impossibly stupid. 500% disagree.
  8. I emailed the Cubs on this fact and they have yet to respond. They should have done something.
  9. I don't think I'll ever have the same "gusto" about Cubs Baseball during the regular season again. They could go 120-42 next year and I'll just shrug and say: "Big deal". Until this team can get to and win the WS, division championships, while nice, just won't mean much. Lets face it, they have won 3 division championships in the last 6 years. It's getting to be almost expected now. This was/is the best team we have seen in most of our life times; 97 wins, huge favorites to get to the series and all of the fun this team gave us this year and then to go out like this? Sorry, I'll really never trust ANY Cubs team again. To live and die with a team for 6 months, to see them blitz the league and then watch them HAND the series to the Dodgers is too much to take. The players change but the results never do. If they don't come back, I'll never trust them again.
  10. I was there last night. Section 215, which is infield terrace between 3rd and home. The media in Chicago is making way more of this then they should. First of all, the crowd was very loud. When De-Ro hit that HR, the place was up for grabs. They were standing and urging Dempster on when he whiffed Eithier in the 3rd and then again when Loney had two strikes in the 5th. It was only natural that the crowd had the air taken out of it after the slam. Not only that, but we have seen this movie before. The crowd tried to get back in the game but the Cubs did nothing to get us back in it. When we got into after A-Rams leadoff double, they proceeded to not score. The crowd was into it, the team didn't perform, which lead to natural angst.
  11. Oh boy. http://espn.go.com/
  12. Hard to disagree with this. http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/news/gameday_recap.jsp?ymd=20080924&content_id=3540258&vkey=recap&fext=.jsp&c_id=chc "I've got confidence in all of them," Piniella said of his starters. "You look at Dempster's home record of 14-3 and that speaks volumes. He's pitched well all year. Basically, that tells you that we'll have an announcement in a few days." There was a long pause in that last sentence. Piniella most likely has made his decision.
  13. In transit per fedex. They will be here tomorrow. \:D/
  14. http://www1.istockphoto.com/file_thumbview_approve/584876/2/istockphoto_584876_rejected_denied :P
  15. It depends on the season ticket package you have. We have the nights, Hollidays and weekend package. We are getting all three NLDS games, two of the four NLCS games and two of the three WS games. The tickets will be fedxed this week, so I'll know exactly what dates we have for the NLCS and WS.
  16. Seriously, Sluggers, Cubby Bear, John Barleycorn. Murphy's? We'll be hitting them all. 8-)
  17. So, with the magic number now down to 1, who from NSB area will be attending tomorrow, or Sunday? I have tickets for both games 8-) . I would love to meet in Wrigleyville with some fellow Cubs fans for the celebration. If we win tomorrow, it's going to insane all night.
  18. or a 4 pitch inning Yes. That's what I meant. My bad. This is starting to get pretty damn ugly. If Hurricane Ike didn't gift wrap 2 wins for us, we could be in trouble. winner for most ridiculous game thread post of the day? You're right, if those 3 games were in Houston with no Hurricane, we would have won at least 2 :banghead: The lead is going to be 6 after today and if we would have lost 2/3 in Houston, it would have been, what, 4.5 with 10 to play, including the last 7 on the road vs. playoff teams. But, you're right, a ridiculous comment. The lead will be 7 and 8 in the loss column.
  19. 1-7 in our last 8 home games if we don't win.
  20. Maybe we won't clinch at home after all.
  21. If we don't win this game, it will be 1-7 in our last home games. PATHETIC!
