Since the Steelers and Pens won titles this year, I started thinking about the teams that I've pulled for all my life, and the championships they've won. In the big four, I am a Steelers, Penguins, Cubs, and Bulls fan (born in Chi, raised in Pit).

1979 - Super Bowl XIV Steelers - I was a baby

1991 - Penguins, Bulls

1992 - Penguins, Bulls

1993 - Bulls

1996 - Bulls

1997 - Bulls

1998 - Bulls

2005 - Super Bowl XL Steelers

2008 - Super Bowl XLIII Steelers

2009 - Penguins

Noticeable absent from that list are the Cubs and the Gamecocks. Still, at age 29, 11 championship seasons that I can remember is pretty good. Thank God I didn't grow up in Cleveland.

Your turn.

(And thank God for MJ.)

Super Bowl XXXI - Green Bay Packers

EDIT: I should point out that I was only 8 at the time and I didn't really start following the NFL until that year and so it pretty much doesn't count. At the age of 8 I knew all the Cubs and half of their AAA team. I would have counted them, but not really the Packers.

Oh, 2007 sucked. Cubs, Mizzou football, Packers.

two Hoosiers (only one that I actually have memory of)

Not a Bulls fan.

So...

none. Not one freaking one.

Wait. Super Bowl XX on my fourth birthday counts, though I didn't even know what football was then.

Yeah, I don't count the Bears as I was 3 during Super Bowl XX.

I realize I'm pretty darn lucky to have those 6 Bulls championships but it'd be awesome if the pinnacle of my sports fandom didn't come from ages 8 - 15.

1998 Tennessee Vols

Otherwise, the Titans made the Super Bowl and lost by a yard. Nothing from the Cubs.

Well, you could count a few Lady Vol basketball titles, but I'm not a big enough fan to count them.

Just the four Lakers championships.

Cubs-none (obviously)

Blackhawks-none

Pacers-none

IU basketball-two (though I was a few weeks away from turning seven for the last one -- though I do recall watching it)

Colts-one

Excepting IU winning when I was almost one and almost seven, the Colts Super Bowl (sore subject for this board, I know, sorry) was my first championship as a fan. In fact, prior the Pacers 2000 NBA Finals appearance, I had not witnessed any of my teams even playing for a title. I've now seen the Pacers (2000), Hoosiers (2002) and, of course, Colts (2006/2007) in their respective league championships.

Edit: Oh, and the original poster sucks.

Bulls - 6

Colts - 1

I actually followed the Bears up until Payton retired (and once the came to Indy and established themselves). I suppose I did the Superbowl shuffle just everyone else here. I won't count that one though...

IU - 2

I like Duke too, since Coach K is a Bob Knight prodigy... But I won't count them either...

4 - Cowboys

4 - Spurs

1 - U of Texas (Probably my favorite, not really counting the baseball championships)

5 - Arsenal (Though I was not watching in 88 or 91)
