Major Wright >> Eric Berry

Well not really. Wright could sneak in the bottom half of the first round though second round seems more plausible. The Gators will have a zillion guys called next year.

I like Major Wright's talent a lot, but I don't think there's a player in the country as good as Berry - at least not a DB. Mays is the only one close.

Tennessee should have more guys taken next year (hard not to beat 1 after all). Berry and Rico McCoy should be the highest to go. Dan Williams should get a strong look late day 1, or sometime in day 2 as well.

I don't know if Wright will have a position in the NFL. He's passable in coverage at best and plays the run elitely, but not big enough to play LB. He's a tweener and in the right system he could be very productive in the NFL but he's not a good fit for most teams. The guy to watch out for is Will Hill. He's a 2011 guy, but he could go top ten as a S. The Gators secondary should have three future first rounders next year. Bookend corners and Jenkins and Haden and Hill will play the nickle most of the time, actually. The Gators defense is going to be scary good next year.

What makes Colt McCoy a better pro prospect than Tim Tebow? Is it McCoy's vaginal arm? McCoy can't throw the ball ten yards down field consistently. Tebow and the 2008 Florida Gators passing offense was one of the most vertical in college football. McCoy's and Texas' was the most horizontal in college football. I wouldn't take McCoy in the first two or three rounds.

I think the top 3 QBs to go will be Bradford, Snead, Pat Devlin (assuming a strong year this year).

But I think Tebow will go first round - just not as a QB.

I think Tebow's going to go first round as a QB. If there's a QB who can bring the spread option to the NFL, it's someone big and durable like Tebow. Some team will experiment with it. I don't know if it will work. If there is another QB outside of Snead, Tebow and Bradford in the first round, I think it's Clausen. He came on late last season, works under a good QB coach, and has the biggest upside in the draft from the position. Ryan Mallett could explode as well.

Clausen will have to have a stellar year to override the doubts about him that linger now, I think. Devlin has a fresh slate and is part of a trendy movement - strong armed QB who runs a spread offense at a small school (Joe Flacco). I'm not sure Mallett will leave early unless he has an amazing year.

I could see Tebow going as a QB, but only if someone wants to experiment with a spread option in the NFL. The Wildcat has worked, but I really don't think there's a coach secure enough in his job who would make an attempt at that working. It'd have to be a coach on a bad team who has plenty of job security (or Jon Gruden coming back into the league and being serious about bringing the spread option with him).

but I feel better about the Dolphins not pursuing a pass rusher in the draft after discovering the 3 month old news that they signed Cameron Wake by accident.

How does a team accidentally sign someone?

 Obviously I meant the discovery of the fact was by accident.

For a kid with the tools as big as Clausen's, it'll only take one great season for him to become a top five pick. See: Carson Palmer. It'll only take him one good season to become a first round pick. See: Aaron Rodgers and Kyle Boller, among others. Hell his sophomore season was better than any of Josh Freeman's and he's got more tools than Freeman.

I think Snead's going to be the second quarterback taken next year (behind Bradford).

I hope not. He's still got two more years of eligibility.

He should be a first rounder next year if he wants to turn pro.

Al Davis might take {noun} #1 overall.

With Al Davis in charge, this is as good as a Mad Libs. Fill in the blank.

I figured as much. The phrasing just made me chuckle.

Agreed on both points. Tebow drafted as a QB only, would be waste of his talents. Tebow is a bigger Pat White, and if a teamis foolish to draft him as a QB only, then they deserve to have a franchise set back a few yrs. Tebow as a Pat White/Reggie Bush athlete and he can be a star.

you got to be kidding me, someone actually watch and followed that crap. Half will get blown out knees in the training camps the other 99 percent you will never here of again

Nevertheless, we're interested in what all 149 percent of players will do.

How does the NFL stay in business if no players will ever actually be successful?

Demps will probably turn in the best 40 in 2012 and he'll probably be a member of the 100m Olympic Team. Davis would date him.

I hope Davis likes Demps so much he croaks.

And you're right. Demps could be injured and average negative yards per carry and catch, but if he runs a ridiculously fast 40, Davis will draft him two rounds before he should go.

Two things here:

1. Berry is a better S then Mays and Wright combined. Quite possibly the biggest game changer in college currently.

2. McCoy is a better pure QB than Tebow. The stats lie and say otherwise, but that is mostly due to the UF guys breaking big plays on short throws.

Berry is a top 5 pick. At safety.
