We did. So we had 2, traded 1, traded back for 1. Now we have 2 again.

I'm glad we got Everette Brown but I really wish we'd quit trading away first rounders a year ahead of time. I wish we'd just given away our 59th pick instead of blowing next year's 1st rounder.

Before the last 10 picks of the 2nd round, I listed the best 16 potential players the should/would reasonably pick. After the 2nd round, with 4 picks until the Bears draft, 12 of those guys are still on the board.

My best available for the Bears (mostly in order):

Louis Murphy- WR

Jauquin Iglesias- WR

Rashad Johnson- FS

Michael Johnson- DE

Duke Robinson- OG

Lawrence Sidbury- DE

Jarron Gilbert- DL

Roy Miller- DT

Tyrone McKenzie- OLB

Jason Phillips- LB

Chris Baker- DT

Kevin Barnes- CB

Rashad Johnson would be nice.

With basically no first-day picks and Cutler's contract pretty reasonable, aren't the Bears setting up for some ungodly cap space in the near future?

Cutler's gonna get a hefty extension after this season, more than likely.

Love the Titans' Round 2 pick. Marks is a very athletic and talented. Not as big as you want a DT to be, but he should be pretty solid.

I'm pleasantly surprised with their draft so far.

Yeah, very good day one for the Titans.

Britt wasn't my first choice for the Titans and I would have preferred Butler or Maualuga, but I like the pick and he has a chance to contribute (even if minimally) this year.

Marks isn't a mammoth DT or anything, but he'll replace Haynesworth's athleticism (as much as anybody can) and will further strengthen the DT rotation. I was shocked when I saw them take him, because I didn't even really consider him as a player they'd look at. But I was very happy about it.

There's still a small chance that Freeman or DJ Moore are there for the Titans in round 3, which would be fantastic.

Overall, I'm impressed with the Packers first day. Raji gives us a true NT and from all accounts I've heard about him, he'll be a fixture there for years. I really love the fact that Thompson finally had the guts to trade up to nab Matthews as well. We improved our front seven drastically in just a couple of hours, so I'm happy about that.

Thompson's later round picks the last few years have been real bad, so I'm hoping we can trade up into the third round again and focus on quality draft picks this season and not quantity.

Angelo says he made a play at Anquan Boldin and tried to move up in the 2nd round, but neither happened.

It was the first time since 1978 the Bears did not make a pick in the first two rounds. Angelo said the Bears made an attempt to trade for disgruntled Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Anquan Boldin.

“Nothing was able to get resolved,” Angelo said.

Angelo wouldn’t reveal details of the talks, but said he assumes the deal is dead because, “I felt like if it was going to happen, it would have happened today.”

The Bears had interest in Oregon defensive back Jarius Byrd, wide receiver Brian Robiskie of Ohio State and a defensive end, according to Angelo, but all went earlier in Round 2.

Angelo said the Bears made attempts to move up in Round 2 and select those and other players, but failed.

“There was absolutely no way we were able to move up,” he said. “That’s the hardest place to get to in the draft is that top half of the second (round) because those are the best buys. Those are the players where you really get a great deal.”
