3-4 defense, meaning, what, Pittsburgh, New England or Houston? I doubt he'd want to go to the Texans, and I don't imagine the first two have tons of cash, but I don't know that for sure

Dallas, Atlanta, San Diego.

also Baltimore, Jets, Cleveland, San Fransisco at times, Miami at times, Denver possibly next year.

BTW, the Texans are a 4-3 defense. Atlanta is also a 4-3.

The Texans were a 3-4 when they first started though, right?

I believe so. They converted about 3 years ago.

Will Dallas change with a new DC?

Any chance the Bears can get McNabb?

If Andy Reid leaves then yes but McNabb is Reid's guy. I don't see them divorcing anytime soon.

I thought McNabb and Reid hated each other?

Either way, I don't want McNabb.

I've never heard that Reid and McNabb hated each other. Not saying it isn't true, just never heard it. With that said, if the Bears are interested in McNabb---at this point, we don't know if they are, or Philly is interested in letting him go---they better draft a young QB in the 2nd/3rd to be his replacement in 3 yrs.

Oh, for some reason I was under the assumption that they didn't really like each other over the past few years. I might've made that up.

Warner is a FA, but he is taking his team to the SB and will likely be re-signed. Anyone have any interest in a trade for Matt Leinart? I'm not sure he's better than Orton, but he is easily more talented. Any chance Arizona takes Ogunleye?

I'm not quite up on NFL rules, how much of his big rookie contract would we be responsible for with Leinart? If that's not a problem, I'd take a flier on him

Both teams would be responsible for whatever is left on the deals, both teams would take cap hits related to the pro rated portion the signing bonus, I think.

AZ is good on ends. They moved chike okeafor from end to linebacker at some point over the last season or so. They have travis laboy and bertrand berry.

Berry's a FA. Laboy, Berry, and Antonio Smith have all been below average. Laboy has never played more than 13 games, and never had more than 6.5 sacks. Berry hasn't had more than 6 in 5 years. Smith has never even had 6. Ogunleye would be the best DE on their roster.

I'm pretty sure the team trading the player away takes the full hit on the bonus and them the team getting the player is responsible for the rest of the contract.

Q&A with Angelo

Couple of points

1) Mike Brown is a gone.

2) Don't be suprised if Vash is cut as well. Pretty damning on him from Jerry. I'm all for letting Vasher go. Graham was the best corner on the team the last half of the season.

Pretty stupid to cut Vasher. Cap hit would be huge. Plus, he's not a bad corner. He needs to stay on the field though. Start Graham, Vasher can be the nickel, but keep Graham on the slot.

If Arizona wins the Super Bowl, I see Warner retiring. If not, I still think there's a 60-40 chance that Warner retires.

I don't know the specifics of Leinart's deal, but I'd assume he probably has another two years on his deal. I don't think they'd trade him unless they know that they can get a good haul for him.

he signed a 6 year deal in 2006

That's what I was saying, I guess yours was more clear though. Leinert has been a pretty big disappointment for Arizona. I think Warner is still a solid year or two away from being Hall-worthy on his own, but multiple super bowls have a way of swaying voters. I see him staying in the league. If he was willing to come back at the relatively cheap price he signed for last year, I don't see why he wouldn't reap the benefits of one last contract. I think the Boldin injury thing is behind him.

Barry Rozner wrote a column talking about the Bears really not bing all that close. And the reason he gives is a lack of really good and really hungry players, like Troy Polamalu, Big Ben and Larry Fitzgerald. He says Mike Brown and Olin Kreutz used to be that type of player.

He ends the thought with:

Players like Troy Polamalu and Larry Fitzgerald - smart, tough, talented and possessed by winning - have made themselves that way.

As soon as the Bears find themselves about a half-dozen like them, they will indeed be close.

And in true Rozner fashion, completely loses any sense of reality. 6 Polamalus? Pittsburgh doesn't even have 6 of those. Arizona doesn't have 6 Larry Fitzgeralds. I understand that the Bears are lacking something like what Mike Brown used to be. But they aren't 6 Mike Browns away from being a contender.
