  1. I feel like a little kid on Christmas morning... I went to sleep in the 10th and woke this morning to find a 410 foot BOMB under the tree...like that NES kid freaking out.
  2. I have not posted since 2009 but guys it's happening...
  3. I will be there Sunday! I have been at Fitch Park every weekend since pitchers and catchers reported and I am stoked for games to start. Spring Training is totally worth the trip if you ever have the chance, I live in Scottsdale and I attend about 10 to 12 games every spring. You can get tickets as low as 8 dollars (lawn seats) and spend the day in beautiful high 70's weather.
  4. Has anyone used NHL gamecenter live? I purchased it for this season and I was just wondering if it's really worth the 160 dollars. I live in Scottsdale, AZ so it's really the only option I have for watching the Blackhawks.
  5. The police just came to the door of my house because of extreme noise. I guess people in Phoenix are not hockey fans. Totally worth it !!! GO HAWKS!
  6. New York, Philly, Pitts. and East coast bias, COMCAST it is.
  7. Is Chicago the largest t.v. market in the playoffs this year? I would imagine the NHL would really want to market their product through Boston and Chicago.
  8. playoff beard time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. If Andy Reid leaves then yes but McNabb is Reid's guy. I don't see them divorcing anytime soon.
  10. Well, for the Cubs just to lease out Wrigley Field, I would expect them go for all the revenue they can get. I am sure NW/Illinois would generate quite a bit of revenue but not as much as they could with a national draw. Regardless of what happens, I think it would be a really cool event to attend. Wrigley Field with marching bands and cheerleaders and portable grandstand in right field like the Bears used.
  11. The NHL and Blackhawks got a lot more exposure and benefit from the game at Wrigley than the Tribune or Wrigley field. Whatever the new owners get out of it is just gravy as the stadium would be sitting there empty generating no revenue if they don't play the game there. The point would be for Illinois / Northwestern / Big Ten to use it as a chance to get a lot of publicity about a game that would normally be 3rd page sports section news (even if they still aren't able to penetrate that coveted Arizona average fan demographic). To be clear... by Arizona, I mean national fan with no ties to Illinois or Northwestern. I used Arizona as a example because I live in AZ.
  12. I am just don't see why the Cubs would be motivated to have a game at Wrigley without significant national tv exposure or sponsorship. Football fans will watch football regardless of who is playing and where, but to draw the "average fan" that is where the money is.(Winter Classic)
  13. Notre Dame has no Chicago ties???? Illinois or Northwestern could always host a big name.
  14. What exactly is your point? The "average person" in Arizona that you reference probably does not know where Wrigley Field is and would have no special interest in watching a football game there. This is about generating more interest in a normally ho hum Illinois / Northwestern game, not to turn it into the national must watch event of the century. Well, to answer your question Seems like the Cubs new ownership group gets the short end of the stick without a big name team. If the point of this game is for Illinois/NW gain only, then why would the Cubs new ownership ever approve such a game?
