Deng actually did ok tonight - 19 and 10. But please stop shooting 21 foot jumpers. That's not your game.

Sounds like the defense really played terrible tonight. Rose, Gordon, Deng, and Noc all put up good offensive numbers. Too bad Tyrus and Noah fell asleep at the wheel tonight.

I truly believe that the top 3 point guards in the NBA by the end of next season will be Chris Paul, Deron Williams, and Derrick Rose.

Truth.

He's THAT good. It's unbelievable to me how awesome he is so quickly. Question: When they announce the starting lineups why do they say for him "from Chicago" instead of from where he went to school. I don't know if they've been doing that the entire season but I noticed it tonight.

derrick rose is a prayer. i was about to disagree with you but i started going through the other true PGs in the league and you might be right. Those are certainly the only two i'd take over him going forward.

In two yrs, I don't know if I would take either Paul or Williams over Rose.

What about right now? Who's better than Rose besides Paul and Williams? I guess you can say Tony Parker. Nash and Kidd are on the way down. Guys like Wade, Baron, Devin Harris, and Iverson aren't true points. Rondo, Calderon, and TJ Ford are off to good starts. Can maybe include Bibby, Andre Miller, and Billups in the discussion right now. But Tony Parker is probably the only other PG clearly better than Rose. And it's pretty close there too.

I was watching the game last night and thought to myself maybe the Bulls shoulda drafted Beasley. The offense isn't geared to run thru the PG (actually, don't know what the offense is supposed to be geared to do). I don't know if Rose will ever be a 9-11 assist/game type PG in the Del Negro offense. But then I kept watching, and forget position, Rose is just a great player. Positive things happen when the ball is in his hands. He makes everyone on the team better. You can't say that about Beasley.

Me either.

He is way stronger than Paul and way faster and more athletic than my boy D Will. Derrick Rose is scary.

what was the starting lineup last night? In a few of these games, I've felt like the "second team" is better than the starters. Any chance of seeing a lineup of Rose/Gordon/Deng/Noc/Gooden in the near future?

They asked him and he said he wanted to be introduced that way. They've been doing it since the preseason games at U of I.

This season has officially turned into a "I don't care if we win/lose, as long as Derrick Rose does awesome" year in my mind. I say gut the team this offseason and build it around Rose.

Gordon - Gone

Gooden - Gone

Hughes - Gone in 2 years

Thabo - resign for cheap as your 4th guard/defensive guy

Tyrus - don't care if they even make him a qualifying offer in 2 seasons

Gray - Who cares

Stuck with:

Deng

Nocioni

Hinrich

Our 2010 position looks pretty solid if we are willing to stand pat and don't add any long term commitments between now and then. The problem is convincing a Wade/Melo/LBJ to sign with us. I guess with Rose aboard it helps.

I wish there was a way to clear enough space to make a S/T for Boozer this offseason. The only way I can see it is if we let Gordon and Gooden go then S/T Hughes and Tyrus and a 1st for Boozer. We'd have no depth but anchored by Rose and Boozer.

I'd take Amare or Bosh alongside Rose over Wade or Melo (is Melo a 2010 free agent?).

LBJ wouldn't be the ideal fit, but when you're talking about one of the top two players on the planet, "ideal fit" goes out the window.

Wow, I figured it was the Bulls call to celebrate the hometown kid.

Yeah to me it's all about Rose. Whatever you have to do with the rest of the roster to get another quality player or two to play alongside Rose, do it.

We're not "stuck" with anything. We can do these things called trades, you know.

It'll be an absolute joke if we gut this team and the only holdovers besides Rose will be Deng, Hinrich, and Nocioni. Talk about bad.

Trades can fix things, but they are extremely complicated to make, and typically involve getting stuck with a bad contract in return for improving your team.

Yeah, you're correct.

Still, I'd be very disappointed if we let Gordon walk away for nothing while we continue to stay on the hook for guys like Hinrich, Noc, and Deng.

Dallas should always have to play us at the United Center. To hell with them, we shouldn't have to hop on a plane and play them down there. It's not even really cold yet.

And I think we're going a little overboard with the Rose love. He's great and the rest of the Bulls should thank their lucky stars they even get to play with him. But proclaiming him better than Williams and Paul is premature. Wliliams is going to go down as one of the best point guards of his era and Paul is a top 20 of all time caliber player.

I hope Rose gets there but let's not get ahead of ourselves.
