Well I am ok with the Brewers odds against anyone but the Cubs in the playoffs. Sabathia, Gallardo and maybe Sheets gives me a lot of confidence against the others. The fact their aces are lefties helps too since the Brewer lineup is pretty anemic against righties.

There's some whispering on Brewerfan about J.J. Hardy potentially being out for this series after injuring it during last night's celebration at home after Braun's walkoff. If it's true... :bye: playoff hopes. Sveum would likely stick Counsell in at shortstop, completely ignore the fact he has Alcides Escobar on his roster, and play Mike Lamb over Russell Branyan at third base.

Yeah, Milwaukee getting into the playoffs would put them against the Phillies or Mets.

Still hoping for a somewhat intricate series of ties that doesn't include the Cubs playing Monday.

The only way the Cubs play Monday is if the Brewers and Mets lose out which ain't happening.

Well that or the roof being blown off of Miller followed by a rain out.

Injuring what? "It."

ELAINE: He took it out.

JERRY: (confused) He what?

ELAINE: He took (blows on her glasses twice to clean them) it out.

JERRY: He took what out?

ELAINE: It.

If the Brewers get in, I think they'll win the first series. (And that's not to say they'll definitely lose the next series.)

I don't see the Brewers beating the Phillies in the playoffs. We all saw how they played against them a few weeks ago in Philly. The Brewers winning a game against the Reds and three against a horrible Pirates team doesn't change that.

They still have plenty of issues, when it comes to winning in the playoffs. First of all who knows with Sabathia will have left, and if Sheets can even pitch in the playoffs. Not to mention they don't get on base enough, and often don't hit good pitching. Plus their bullpen is still isn't good and they don't really play good defense either. Of course if Sabathia, Sheets and Gallardo are all healthy and pitching good(which is a long shot) in the playoffs they could be scary. So thats why I rather have them miss the playoffs just in case. But the Brewers are 8 and 17 against the Dodgers, Phillies and Cubs this season for a reason. By the way Ryan Dempster is 4-0 with a 2.52 in four starts against the Brewers this season.

Don't the Astros have to win out as well?

Yes. The Astros elimination number is 1.

They are playing Atlanta, so I guess it is possible, although Atlanta has been winning a few lately. But, I don't see both the Brewers and the Mets losing out, so guess it doesn't matter.

Have the mets lose one of their next two, and sweep the Brewers into obscurity. The Mets make it in over the Brewers, Santana has to pitch on Sunday, the Brewers don't get their playoff revenue and can't keep the necessary pitching to be competitive next year, it's the best of all worlds

Good to see Hoffpauir in there perhaps, with another big night, he secure a playoff roster spot over Ward. In fact if DeRosa can't go in the NLDS I'd like see Hoffpauir in RF - use Fukedome as a defensive replacement. I don't give a squat about Hoff as long time prospect or what he's done beyond this year, all that matters he's hit all this year at every level and Fukedome and Ward haven't.

The collective scream you heard from the north was Milwaukee fans complaining why the Cubs didn't start this line up last night in a driving rain storm. Micah in RF...Hey Fukie, how's your golf game?

Living in Wisconsin stinks when the Cubs and Brewers play. At least I get it on FSN Wisconsin. :-&

I have to put up with Cardinals announcers most of the time when the Cubs play the Cards.
