Thanks for beating the Mets Cubbies but now it's time for you to choke this series and give us our playoff berth. :) Edited by adamb10

Choke? If the Cubs lose to the Brewers it certainly wouldn't be choking.

It's not possible for the Cubs to choke this series.

Well alright, how about replace choke with lose then. Either way I'm rooting for Piniella to put out his bench players and give his starters a comfy rest for the post season. :D

Not technically choking, since we already clinched, but he did the :) so he doesn't really mean "choke" in the real sense.

Berth. The playoffs aren't being born.

Sorry, pet peeve of mine.

Cubs win this one but lose the next two. Mets lose two of three to FLA and choke once again.

I'd agree with this. The only question is in which order do the Mets lose two of three? If the Brewers lose Friday night and the Mets win, the city of Milwaukee could be in full meltdown mode.

How about:

Cubs/Marlins win

Brewers win/Mets win

Brewers win/Mets lose

We win WC and life is good.

Brewers win one game playoff.

Although it if happens like that, I'd be cool with them canceling the wildcard and giving the Cubs a bye for the NLDS since the two wildcard teams refuse to win.

After being resurrected against the Pirates, the Brewer's playoff hopes are going to be dealt a cruel chokeslam as the Mets win their series and the Cubs' September callups take the first 2 games of this series.

I'd bet a small amount of money on it.

But really, whoever makes it is going out in the first round.

I'm still undecided about whether or not I want the Brewers to win the wild card, but holy hell it would be fun to beat up the Brewers this weekend and knock them out of the playoffs in games that mean nothing to us.

I personally would much rather see the Mets win WC. I don't have the intense dislike for them any more. That being said, when the Mets do win the WC, I then fully believe that their dreams would be crushed in just 3 games. The Brewers, on the other hand, I do have a very intense dislike for, and would love to see them wiped off the face of the planet this weekend. Edited by mopapa

I don't like that scenario, because that is the only scenario that could have the Cubs playing the Astros on Monday.

I like the Brewers chances in the first round against the Dodgers.

When the season comes down to just 3 games it is more or less random what is going to happen so I have no prediction on what is going to happen. Whichever team loses will have had epic chokes two years in a row though.

The Brewers wouldn't play the Dodgers.

If Milwaukee got in, they'd play the Phillies, assuming they don't choke away the NL East. Considering how things went there a week or two ago, I can't say they'd have a great chance at making it out of the first round. But weirder things have happened in the LDS before.

Yeah, Milwaukee getting into the playoffs would put them against the Phillies or Mets.

Still hoping for a somewhat intricate series of ties that doesn't include the Cubs playing Monday.
