And yes, that is officially the first no-hitter ever thrown in Miller Park. By the Cubs. In a game the Brewers weren't involved in.

Fred, start a new thread and post this ^^^^

Wow. Just wow. I don't care if I have homework. Today's game was unreal. My heart really didn't start racing until the 8th though.

I thought that last out was definitely going to be a walk. Erstad plrobably thought "Ah well, he can have the no hitter."

Posted

Remember all those times we said it was going to be some idiot like Marquis that threw the no-no?

I'm so happy it wasn't. :D

And yes, that is officially the first no-hitter ever thrown in Miller Park. By the Cubs. In a game the Brewers weren't involved in.

I thought Verlander did it in Milwaukee last year.

I've been following this team since I was in grade school in the early 80's - first Cubs no-hitter that I've ever seen, of course.

Nice game, Z. Let's keep this momentum going through October.

Man, what a year for Soto. Has any catcher ever caught a no hitter and won ROTY and won the World Series in the same year?

That would have to be some sort of record.

Ironically, it was done against Houston, the club that Wood dominated for 20 Ks and what should have been our last no-hitter. In my mind, the Cubs now have two guys in staff who have reached that elite status of domination. Edited by EhDubya
