No Game Friday or Satruday per Jesse Rogers on the Score. Double headed on Sunday.

Heard the same report. A Double Header on Sunday and 3rd game on Monday. We will know for sure what's going to happen in a little less than an hour supposedly. This is fine, but won't the Cubs have trouble getting into Houston if they stay away until Saturday night. I guess the Cubs would still have to go to Houston tonight and ride out the storm all weekend waiting to play on Sunday.

What are we going to do with ourselves on Friday and Saturday? AHHHH!

Seriously, this sucks.

Hopefully watch the Brewers, Cardinals, Mets, and Diamondbacks lose I guess.

What are they gonna do if Houston is in ruins, without power? It's just silly to do this.

I don't think it will be. Houston proper is too far inland. There will be some wind damage, but probably not to MMP or most major structures.

Of course I'm not expert on hurricanes, I could be completely wrong. That is just what I've been reading.

Have you seen the expectations for this storm? If it makes landfall as a strong 3 or weak 4, Houston will be on the bad side of it. 125MPH winds--yeah, I'm sure nothing will be damaged and power will be up and running right away. You realize people in Louisiana are still without power because of Gustav?

So now they are saying if this was the scenario set up for DH Sunday and 3rd on Monday the Cubs would just come back to Chicago tonight. I guess they figure they can get into Houston late Saturday night after the storm has passed? It's supposed to hit in the morning on Saturday, will it be cleared out enough to fly into Houston, or will the Cubs have to fly into somewhere Southwest of Houston and bus in? San Antonio is 200 miles away to the west, away from the storm path. Who knows.

MLB would deliberately put the Cubs in jeopardy by bringing them in to ride out a hurricane? I don't think even Butt Selig is that stupid. And if that is MLB's plan, and I'm the Cubs organization, I'm saying hell no, we won't go.

I can only imagine how scared Lance Berkman must be.

You deserve a cookie.

What happens if Houston is flooded or generally not capable of hosting major league baseball on Sunday?

This seems like a dumb idea. The city won't be destroyed, but it would be stupid to try and have a baseball game just a day after a major hurricane strikes the area. When and how exactly are the Cubs supposed to fly into Houston? They'd either fly them in before the storm, thereby making the team ride out the same storm they'll be telling people to evacuate for, or they'll try and fly them in just after it passes.

they can come to clearwater and play in the threshers stadium here...

i will put up those cubs that would like to be around a fan all weekend...actually i would probably only want dero, theriot, harden, z, and edmonds

Im on board with "This is stupid".

Why go through all this, just host the game somewhere else its been done before due to snow, seems like this would be the simplest solution. I guess the Astros just dont want to have to refund tickets.

Why don't they play at Wrigley, make Houston the home team and give the gate revenue to the Astros so then they don't lose their gate?

I know it really wouldn't be home games, but all they really care about is the money. With a hurricane around, you would think sellouts at Wrigley would be more fruitful than half crowds in Houston.

I'm crazy aren't I?
