Damnit! I have tickets and have already paid for a hotel through Priceline.

Stay away, Ike! Stay away!

I'm with you on that, Vance! I got front row seats in RF on Saturday and a room at the Hilton.... Keeping my fingers crossed that Ike stays away.

This was never anything to worry about.

Don't you guys know that Bush programs his hurricane-generating machine to make sure that only New Orleans gets hit and Houston and his Big Oil buddies never get hit?

I mean, really, get with the program.

It's just comical after the losing streak and then Sunday's ninth-inning debacle, that a hurricane would come into play, too. Only the Cubs...

To all that are going to the Cubs/Astros series in Houston this weekend:

I just got off the phone with the Astros ticket services people, and they told me that the games are still scheduled to be played this weekend. If anything changes, that would happen Friday morning, and tickets will be refunded. The number to call if in the event that happens is: 800-278-7672

Did anyone see the article in the Trib this morning? They said it wasn't ruled out that the series might be moved to Wrigley. I think that was just speculation though. Either way, they have been discussing alternate options.

If the season were to end today, games 3 and 4 of the NLDS would be the Cubs @ Dodgers.

Latest models bring the storm in between Corpus Christi and Galveston (most models take it right into Corpus). It is a large (surface area) storm and should make landfall overnight Friday.

Each successive model run brings the storm further north and east. I get the feeling that the Cubs won't be heading to Houston this weekend:

Thiswas issued by the Astros today.

"The Houston Astros are continuing to monitor the projections and path of Hurricane Ike and are in close contact with the Office of Emergency Management. We are considering all of our potential options, and there is a possibility that our game against the Chicago Cubs Friday evening (Sept. 12) may be moved to a 1:05 p.m. start, relative to how the storm is progressing toward the Houston area. There will be a decision made tomorrow with regards to Friday's game after continued consultation with the Office of Emergency Management. The safety and well-being of our fans and both teams involved is always our primary concern."

Hurricane watch for Houston. Vance, you might want to re-think going to Houston. I doubt the Cubs make it down there.

That puppy's rolling right at Houston. No way they play all the games there.

I wonder if Houston will insist on that Friday day game to try and get 1 home game out of the deal. Then hurry everyone out of there to parts unknown for the final 2.

This is going to be crazy.

And both teams are in playoff contention, too [thanks to Houston's white-hot play of late]. Not a good deal at all.

(unless all 3 games are moved to Wrigley... even despite how the very recent series between the 2 teams just turned out)

;)
