Hurricane Ike is currently projected to pass through Cuba for the next day or so. After that, it is supposed to head into the warm Gulf waters. The current 5 day track has it getting pretty close to Houston by Friday evening. 5 days is pretty far out, but this could have an impact on the series this weekend if it comes close to the Houston area, especially if it's a major hurricane.

What would MLB do about the series this weekend if it does impact the area? Would they move the series to another location?

Here's the current track:

they'll probably move the game to florida and have us play a triple header followed by a plane ride and a day game.

Remember the two games the Marlins played against the Expos at the Cellblock back in 2004?

I say we have the Cubs and Astros play their games at Fenway, just for the heck of it. Who cares if the Red Sox are playing there at the same time? They can share!

Petition for Dodger Stadium then.

And then to Oklahoma City in the dead of night when no one's looking.

Here's the list of the MLB teams that will be away this weekend, if they decided to do something like this:

KC

Mil

Minnesota

STL

Tampa Bay

Toronto

ATL

DC

Detroit

LA

Cinci

SF

Seattle

Texas

And of course the Cubs

As I said in the game thread, because Houston is the home team, they'd have the choice. They would probably want to play somewhere relatively near Houston or near their next series, which is at Florida. Both teams have an off day Monday, so they might wait to see how the storm hits and move Friday's game until Monday too.

My guess is its either played in Dallas, KC, or Atlanta

Petco is home to a AAA team. Surely, we could bump them.

What's up with the Astrodome these days?

*Looks at opening post*

The map updated and it won't be at Houston until Sunday. Will they make us play a DH on Saturday? That would suck.

They have it just off the coast of Galveston by Saturday morning at 8 am. I would think that would be close enough for them to cancel the game in advance.
