Escobar plunked in the ribs by Lilly, Escobar pointed out to him, both benches cleared, no punches thrown, no ejections, warnings to both benches.

Last time the Cubs won 8 in a row on the road?

1945.

I refuse to believe that statistic.

Straight from the mouth of Pat Hughes.

I just can't believe that the Cubs in the last 63 years have been unable to win 8 in a row on the road. I mean I know the Cubs haven't had the best teams, but wow.

:-k

I swore ESPN said the cubs' downfall this year was that they were terrible on the road.

it was until 8 road games ago, but then few teams do well on the road

I was just poking fun at the main, albeit weak, argument that the talking heads on TV were spewing on about the cubs downfall this year. As it turns out, IMO, it was more of an anomaly that they were playing better than average at home and less than average on the road. They are a great team, regardless of geographic location.

What the hell? That was a slider. From Bob. And not a bad one.

Len was shocked too. Not sure if anyone else heard. Pretty funny, he tried to cover it. "There's a slider? ...for a strike? from Bob"

My God when this team starts scoring runs it's beautiful.

WE SCORED 11 AGAIN TONIGHT!

Can anyone even believe how prolific this offense is? I mean seriously, take a step back and look at the big picture. This is ridiculously awesome.

What makes it all the more beautiful is that it's not all on the back of one heart-tapping player...this team is incredibly balanced

(Oh, and Bob Howry, your train is now departing)

How is it the HR ball that bit Howry Len? Sure he gave up the HR, but he also allowed 2 to reach before that. It's not like he was cruising and threw one bad pitch and was like "whoops thats a mistake" He's been throwing them all inning.

Not to nitpick but, why can't the Cubs get, Infante, a lifetime .258 hitter, with a .320ish OBP out?

Because he wants to show us that we shouldn't have traded him.

Why is Howry still in the major leagues?

I mean I guess I could keep asking this, but he can't consistently get outs and just gives up hard hit balls
