Nothing like picking up where you left off after a rain-induced 2 day layoff. The Cubs have a nice little win streak going and look for the sweep on Thursday.

Ted's been slowing putting himself together after a shaky start to the season. His 4.26/106/1.338 season stats do not reflect the fact that he's been steadily trending better all year long.

Tom's struggled this year, posting a 4.85/85/1.567 line. He's fresh off the DL, and his last performance was against -- you guessed it -- the Cubs on June 10th when he gave up 4 runs in 3 innings and took the loss.

The Braves probably aren't very sure how much Glavine will give them. Pound him out of the ballgame early, make a mess of that bullpen, and cruise out of town with the easy sweep.

Perfect scenario would be Cubs rough up Glavine get him out of there after 4-5. Get into the Braves pen again, and Lilly go 7 or 8 strong innings. I'd imagine no Cotts or Samardzija for the Cubs. Bobby Cox is senile, so I don't imagine any of the guys that threw multiple innings for them yesterday (Bennett, Nunez, Bueno, Carlyle) will be off limits.

Cubs should win this game, which is good since nobody else in the majors can beat the Brewers.

Glavine, coming off the DL, has to be on some pitch count. If we get to the pen early, after yesterday, expect fireworks.

Because of the 3 off days in the last week, plus the off day coming up on Monday, the bullpen is relatively still well rested despite throwing almost 8 innings yesterday. We should dominate.

We're not going to see them again for another year. There's no reason to risk playing with 24 players for 3-4 games just to get vengeance.

I was thinking the same thing the Braves are done, probably for the next few years. Theres no point losing anyone to a team with nothing to lose. The worst that can happen for them is someone gets suspended and they bring up a minor leaguer for an audition. For us, we lose a few and are screwerd, especially if its Soriano and Lilly.

since the 1st place WC team is the Brewers, it's determining how many games up we are on the 2nd place WC team. if the Brewers take the division lead, we become the WC leaders

We're not going to see them again for another year. There's no reason to risk playing with 24 players for 3-4 games just to get vengeance.

I would let it go. We're in a pennant race. Win this "battle" by scoring more runs and sweeping the season series, not by plunking some Brave in the ribs.
