I would guess Red Sox or Devil Rays.

I just don't think the Sox would let him slip to the Rays. I also don't think if he did slip to the Rays they would trade for him.

Do the Rays even make trades that aren't totally lopsided in their favor?

No, it started in the AL. He wouldn't make it past the Rays, who I'm hoping claimed him.

I'm not sure that is still the way waiver claims are made, at least according to this:

I've now read elsewhere(read: BTF), that the league rule is no longer in place, which sounds familiar now that I saw it. Only differnece without the league rule is that the Cubs didn't have a chance in addition to the Angels and Rays.

Not sure if it's right or not.

I sorta retracted that later on when I read conflicting opinions on that. I'm kinda thinking it does still go by league.

Buster Onley said on ESPN that it was the Twins and Tigers that put in the claims.

The Tigers are the Astros of the AL.

9.5 out of a shaky division with a + 20 run diffential while Houston is 12 back and - 24.

Washburn to the Cards? This is from CBSSportsline fantasy

Jarrod Washburn, SP SEA

News: According to the Seattle Times, Mariners SP Jarrod Washburn has been claimed on waivers by the St. Louis Cardinals. Seattle now has 48 hours to try and work out a deal with St. Louis, otherwise Washburn remains a Mariner.

Analysis: A lot of these waiver deals seem to fizzle out, but this could be one that actually has a chance of happening. If you own Washburn in an AL-only league, you might want to start making alternative plans just in case the SP ends up switching to the other side.

2008 Washburn = 2006 Weaver? I could see it.

So since they won't make the playoffs they'll just get the terrible regular season #s from him. I'm game. I think Washburn is signed for next year for way too much too.

I am all about this move, get it done MO!!

Problem is...Seattle is prolly going to ask for Chris Perez and Colby Rasmus for Washburn, b/c apparently Seattle thinks Washburn is a TOP MLB pitcher........
