The Cubs murdered Lohse last time for his worst outing of the season. Take out Cedeno, Blanco, Marquis and Lieber (who are a combined 0-11)...none of whom will be in the lineup tomorrow and the starting pitcher Lilly, the Cubs will throw out a lineup of hitters all hitting .333 or better for their career against Lohse. And assuming Izturis doesn't come off the DL and Looper doesn't start again tomorrow, the entire Cards lineup will be under .333 against Lilly.

"Good" news, everyone. Buck and McCarver will be in New York to call the Yankees/Red Sox game. At least Buck won't be inconvenienced by having to sit through an entire game that doesn't involve those two teams.

It looks like they are trying to keep Fukudome in the 2 spot so that he can be acclimated to it when Soriano comes back.

 

Hopefully that means Theriot or Fontenot are in the leadoff spot today, not Johnson for the 3rd straight day. Johnson probably has the inside track though.

The fact that Lou keeps batting Johnson vs. righties, and considers DeRosa as his altenate suggests that Murton has no future with this team.

Is Soto going to start? I just wonder cause of the whole day game after a night game.

 

I doubt it matters much. Game was over by 10pm St Louis time. Game today isn't til 3pm CST. That's 17 hours between games (fwiw, Soto has consistently played Fri/Sat day games in Wrigley this year, which gives him about 19-20 hours between games...so not a big difference w/ the later start today). Plus, Soto has started several times in day games after he played a night game. Throw in the fact that he is swinging the bat with a vengeance right now and this is the Cardinals, there is no way Soto sits today.
