ESPN 1000 reported A-Ram left the team to be with his wife who is giving birth to their first child. 8-)

What a relief!

Sad to see him off the team for a few days, but the dude deserves time off for that. \:D/

I'm thinking "birth of a child" is not the reason. Why would the team hold back on THAT announcement??? Players have babies all the time. The official site says he left "to deal with a family matter". If it is a birth, maybe there's some sort of complication or something. Otherwise I gotta believe it's something else. Hope I'm wrong.

That was Detroit. Houston was the year before.

Apparently when you stick DeRosa at third he thinks he IS Ramirez

He did it better (for one night) then A-Ram. Not since Santo has there been a 2 HR 6 RBI night by a Cubs 3rd basemen. Correct me if I am wrong.

Aramis had a 2 HR 6 RBI game last year, a 2 HR 7 RBI game in 2006.

HA that is what I get for listening to ESPN. They said no Cubs 3rd basemen had done it since Santo. Niceee.......

So anyone heard anything further? Is A-Ram back in the lineup today?

That's the assumption I believe. But until the lineup is out later, can't say for sure.

Perhaps they meant "white" third baseman?

I'm pretty sure what ESPN (and Len) said was that no Cubs 3rd baseman has had a 2 hr game where one was a GS in SF since Santo.
