And that's the ballgame, with of course, the Cardinals tying it up (at least) in Detroit and holding the Tigers down with that joke of a bullpen!!!! Edited by gflore34

Maybe its time to crank up the search for a new starter.

Why, because Marquis couldn't get one out when he needed it? He's actually been pitching quite well lately.

F'in Edmonds..

I DONT CARE HOW MUCH MONEY THEY MAKE OR WHAT THEY DID YESTERDAY -

JUST F'IN PLAY HARD...

HE JOGS AND SLOWS UP ON A WOULD BE SINGLE THAT TURNS INTO A DOUBLE..

CHANGES THE ENTIRE COMPLEXION OF THE INNING AS FAR AS SITUATIONS..

THEN THEY WALK MARKAKIS INTENTIONALLY TO LOAD THE BASES FOR MR. CONTROL JASON MARQUIS (WHO HAS BEEN PRETTY GOOD OF LATE) - ( I STILL DONT LIKE HIM)

SERIOUSLY - CANT WIN EVERYGAME, BUT DONT GIFT WRAP IT FOR THE OTHER TEAM...

HERE'S TO YOU MR. LOLLIGAGER....AKA EDMONDS

Another mistake by Lou. Marquis is a headcase, it's hard enough to trust him with the bases empty and 2 outs. He is almost guaranteed to fail with the bases loaded. Hopefully, when Z comes back, this clown is released.

Any chance that Marshall will keep a rotation spot instead of Marquis when Z returns?

nope, not at all.

Agreed. Maybe if Z didn't come back for 4 more starts, and Marquis kept giving up 5-6 runs per start. But they're not going to replace Marquis unless his ERA is well above 5, and it's not even at 5 yet. Plus, Marshall would have to be dominant in those 4 starts in order to make up for his poor performance on Tuesdya.

He's been not awful. And that's generous.

BOOOOOOOOOOO

when every outing involves hanging by a thread, eventually the thread is gonna break.

yeah, to illustrate some of the deficiencies of ERA and ERA+, he's been better or equal to last season so far (101 ops+), 4.43 ERA, but with a whip of 1.47, his era was bound to take a tumble eventually

if by "pitching quite well" you mean "getting extremely lucky on balls in play," then you're right on the money.

The Cubs think so lowly of Sean Marshall we had to go trade for Steve Trachsell. We think highly of Marquis. Enough to give him a 3 year deal.

here we go, he cant control his breaking pitch, so we can just sit on fastball and put some linedrives together
