Hes lost weight, and gained more velocity on his fastball than he had in years past. Hes gotten better with age, and learned how to pitch. Hes been horrible in the majors doing a job hes never done before.

That sounds a lot more like excuse-making for lack of performance than evidence.

Or it's logical reasoning.

I know in a high leverage situation I want Chad Fox warming up

Not anyone else

Lou do you understand how baseball works?

Good thing we have Carlos Marmol available!

...wait a second.

It's a logical reason for a pitcher whose performance projected to positive major-league numbers before the changes. But they didn't. He's a good prospect and a major-leaguer, but a 93-MPH fastball doesn't change that the majors and minors have both treated him like a mediocre pitcher on a pretty consistent basis.

How is that excuse making? Soto's loss of weight has equaled better performance, why do you find it so hard to believe that Gallaghers loss of weight hasnt done the same? Also Seans use in the pen was sporadic at best, and should be taken with a huge grain of salt.

Soto's loss of weight equaled better performance. Gallagher's, to this point, has not, so I see no reason to change his projections from what they were before he lost weight.

Marmol being unavailable today doesn't matter. This is probably what Lou would do if Carlos were available as well.

Seriously, Chad Fox? How many guys do we have in AA better than Chad Fox?

Several. Nothing like using your organization's 25th best pitcher in a high-leverage situation.

I wish I could manage a baseball team

Agree to disagree, because I think you are being awfully hard on Gallaghers past.
