Scouting Report:

D-backs: Johnson picked up the win against the Phillies his last time out despite allowing four runs on five hits over six innings. Most importantly for Johnson was that his surgically-repaired back felt the best it has in two years. The win was No. 286 for Johnson. The left-hander is still working out the kinks in his command, but he seemed to get a jump in velocity this time around as his fastball touched 94 mph and his slider checked in at 86 with some of its old bite.

Cubs: Zambrano isn't striking out batters at the same rate as he has in years past, but he is getting the job done, and doing so effectively. He held the Reds scoreless over eight innings in his last start, striking out three and giving up three hits. It was a solid effort, and he got better as the game progressed.

Johnson has dominated us in years past, so I have no idea how we are going to look against the grandpa version tomorrow. Z's ks don't worry me at all. He's getting guys out and walking less of them. The new Z can stick around as long as he'd like.

Call me crazy, but I like our chances tomorrow. Wouldn't it be hilarious if Lou started Pie? I know he won't but it would be really funny to see him actively trying to destroy him and justify a send down. Payback's a bitch, let's sweep these mothers!

This new Z actually reminds me of 2003 Z. He was getting guys out with the ground balls and not walking as many people. It seems the past couple years he was worried about getting more k's, but that brought along more walks. I like this Z better.

A sweep against these guys would be huge, espcially going into a 4 gamer with the struggling Padres.

Hopefully we can finally conquer Randy Johnson. Sure, we'd be conquering a shell of the Randy Johnson who dominated us for the past 2 decades, but I'll take it none the less.

Hopefully we can go into the 9th with a huge lead so we can see Marmol again.

If we beat Randy Johnson to sweep the best team in baseball this really is the year.

Sweeping the best team in baseball? The Cubs can't beat themselves :D

If we beat Randy Johnson to sweep the best team in baseball this really is the year.

Sweeping the best team in baseball? The Cubs can't beat themselves :D

You dont know the Cubs very well.

Better clarify myself. The 2008 Cubs can't beat themselves. I hope.
