Wow, that pitcher from 40 years ago is actually throwing it harder than like 75 mph!! I'd like to see a game from just 20 years before that because there is NO WAY those guys were throwing that hard in the 40's, and DEFINITELY not in the 1930's. I wonder what mutation occurred in the human species in such a short time that allowed major league pitchers to go from 60 mph to like 85+.

Frankly, with Maloney throwing over 180 pitches in a game, I'm surprised he's not throwing 30 mph at that point in the game.

His mechanics aren't that great, either.

who is the manager at iowa? He is my hero! When hill was taken out, this is the switch he made.

Torres from center to left

Fuld from right to center

Hoffpauir from first to right

McGehee from third to first

Figueroa from short to third

Blanco in to play short

Aciano in to pitch for hill

Only the second baseman and catcher weren't replaced

Holy mega double switch batman

I'm pretty sure it's Pat Listach, who was with the Smokies last year.

And that's an awesome double switch. It puts Dusty to shame.

Hill just walked his 4th man. 92 pitches, 52 strikes. He really hasn't shown that much better control.

but, but, but... he has 9k's!

you're doing that not-at-all tired, completely hilarious green font thing like the k's don't, in part, cancel out some of the harm from the walks, but they do. bring him back up.

Stupid rain. I got up early so I could watch this game and now it's not going to start for a while. Ugh.

How do you get up early to watch a game that starts at 1:20 central time? Even in California, that's not the crack of dawn.

Maybe he's in Hawaii right now?

I will be in about a month but it would be nice to be there now.

Those 11:20 am wakeup calls are rough.

I had to set my alarm to get up in time and could have slept at least another hour.

I don't see how anyone can expect him to be successful if he keeps walking this many guys. At the big league level more guys can hit breaking balls so I don't think that the K's are necessarilly reflective of what he would do here. If he can't go right after AAA hitters with confidence and not walk guys I don't know what his problem is.

Well this sucks. I was looking forward to watching Zambrano pitch but now since the game is on stupid CSN tomorrow I won't be able to. Damn you weather!
