A clear day. Z's our best starter, we wouldn't want him to go 2 innings, then have to go to the pen after a long rain delay.

I like the move, it saves the temptation of bringing him back after a rain delay, or completely waisting his day by going 2 and having it completely washed away.

Plus should Sean impress here, and Marquis just totally stink his next time out it puts more pressure on Lou to make a change.

It's not raining out here and I live about an hour from the park.

Not sure that they'd do this, but if there is a long delay after 2 or 3 innings and then they can see that it will be clear from there on out, they may be able to slot in Z for the rest of the game. At that point, pitchers could have as much time as they need to get ready. I doubt they'd do something like that, but if they'd be sure that after break number 1 that the rain wasn't coming back and you'd have Zambrano for 6 or 7 to finish a game, that'd be the way I think that I'd want to go.
