Interesting fielding change by St. Louis right now:

Cesar Izturis leaves the game

Jason LaRue, enters at first

Albert Pujols, first to second

Aaron Miles, second to short

The last time TLR made that stupid a decision, he was asleep at a green light.

pujols is playing 2nd...wtf.

isnt his elbow screwed up? Why would tony do that? If you are going to stick someone at 2nd who can't play it, wouldn't you go with someone other than your franchise player?

Because LaRussa is the smartest Manager in baseball - just ask him.

If it was me, I'd have put Schumaker at 2B (he played SS and 2B in college) and Larue in left, leaving Pujols and his gimpy arm at 1B.

I don't understand the complaints about Fukudome not having any power. I think that will come around. When he swings, it always looks so pretty.

I would never move Pujols until he gets his arm fixed. Why tempt fate?

herzog used to pull crap like that, too.

Must be a St. Louis thing.

I bet Tony La Russa could pull a Bevington and have it explained as a brilliant strategic move.
