Let's get the most taxing sweep in the history of baseball tomorrow. It's Matt Morris and a tapped Pirates pen, so it SHOULD be fairly simple.

But he'll probably be facing Jason Marquis and a tapped Cubs pen...so..

I still like our odds in that matchup.

Their bullpen is just as shot as our own is. I'm more worried about the Philadelphia series at this point.

I do to. And it's a good thing it's a night game tomorrow, cause I am pretty sure these guys are worn out.

although Lieber will be coming off back-to-back days off, so he should be good to go if the starter gets in any trouble.

so is it Hill or Marquis tomorrow?

Why not both? We can do a piggyback system and it won't hurt, imo.

I'm not sure if you're joking, but based on both of their past performances on days when we need them to go deep to protect a taxed bullpen, it wouldn't be such a bad idea.

I'm trying to write a 20 page paper and have been in and out of this game thread as my only means to what is going on. What did Pie do?

He hit three grand slams and robbed five HRs.

Struck out each AB. They're saying he might go back to the minors.

Ignore my last two posts...this is actually what happened. Except I hear they might just DFA him.

Half joking, half serious. I don't know why more teams in the majors do it more often, but, at the same time, I'd imagine it would be a bit of a pain to time things like warming up properly.

No...he no longer has any value at all.

Hill will be starting tomorrow - Marquis is sick.

Bruce said that if Marquis felt better tomorrow he would start. If he is still feeling ill, he'll be pushed back until Friday.

It feel like last week already, but great game by Demp and I'm happy for PIe. If we all give the guy a chance, he's going to be a solid CF for the Cubs.

Now let's go get the SWEEP tomorrow!
