i think the entire nl central is a laughingstock... for good reason too

clearly, but when you're the laughingstock of the laughingstocks, it doesn't spell good things.

You are really reaching here.

Keep talking your sports trash on the internet.

I'm sorry, there's this dumb feature on here that sometimes only allows me to read posts from fans whose teams have made the playoffs in the last decade. I keep pm'ing Tim to fix it, but he's busy.

lolz

This is sooo funny. Like omg.

Hey look what happend the last time we made the playoffs.

You got swept by Atlanta? Quite awe inspiring. (You don't even know your crappy team's history)

Wait, I mean, I still can't read your posts.

What's become of us? You like my jokes, I'm defending Eli Manning. What a crazy world.

Why is Belichick's a-holery not a bigger story? The man left the field before the game was over and took his team with him. WTH?! That was one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen. The man is the biggest baby I've ever seen in professional sports. But anyway, I hope this is the first piece in a long painful Patriots downfall. I hope they get the proof of their cheating against the Rams, all their old players either retire or start sucking, and they become crap.

Also, I predicted a 3 point Giants win, although I secretly thought the Patriots would win.

look at the yahoo front page.

Nice:

On more than one occasion this year, Bill Belichick and the Patriots have run up the score on an overmatched opponent, and forced an opposing coach to sit there and watch his beaten team go through the motions while their heineys were being handed to them.

But when the shoe's on the other foot, and Bill Belichick's team has been beaten, he can't sit there and take the pain for a few seconds.

With :01 left on the clock, and his team just having failed on a last chance 4th down effort, Bill Belichick ran onto the field for a quick handshake, and then bolted for the locker room. Belichick's an important guy and everything, but I wasn't aware that the league had given him the authority to decide when games end.

There's time left on the clock, his team's been humbled, outplayed, and lost their chance at history ... and Bill Belichick doesn't have the stomach to sit there and absorb the pain until the clock read 0:00.

That's unsportsmanlike at best, disrespectful at least, and at worst, it makes him a big sissy.

I woke up sick, feverish, and irritable. I dragged myself to a Super Bowl party, bought some squares on one of those score grids, and prayed the Giants would win. I ended the night 100 beans richer and laughing at the Pats. A good night.

Oh, and IMB is killing in this thread.

I was just going to post this same exact rant. Completely disgusting and classless. I'd use worse words if I were allowed.

Remember a few years ago when, as a Minnesota Viking, Randy Moss walked off the field and into the locker room at the end of a loss to the Washington Redskins?

In Super Bowl XLII, it was Moss and his new team ... the New England Patriots ... that did the walking. With :01 remaining in the game ... everyone who seems to have the right to run onto a field when a game ends, did. They had to clear the field to run that one second off the clock. As they did so, the Pats team walked off the field and into the locker room. The only guys left on the field were the stragglers who comprised the 11 that were on the field when the Giants took their game-ending kneel.

i'm willing to forgive most things that coaches, particularly nfl coaches, do. It's a ridiculous job, so weird behavior should probably be expected. But a lack of sportsmanship, of that scale, shouldn't be ignored.

Oh, and Plaxico is looking pretty smart right now.

My friend's father-in-law had amazing seats to the game. He said he was surprised by how arrogant and almost contemptuous the NE players seemed to be toward NY before the game. The guy next to him noted it as well and said he wondered if they were prepared to be challenged. Whatever, BS analysis, I admit, but interesting.

It should be noted he was rooting for the Pats.

Woohoo, way to go Giants (I know I'm a bit late, but the game ended at 4:30 in the morning here, so I went straight to bed)

I am now officially an American Football-fan I haven't been this excited about a sport since... forever

I was kind of hoping for a quick, decisive fall into mediocrity rather than something long and protracted.

Also, without looking back, I'm sure some have pointed out how incredibly wrong I was about this game. I completely missed this -- never saw it coming. But I was still rooting for Eli on that final drive. Good to see the NFC win a Super Bowl now & again, and thank God Boston sports won't be winning any tri-fectas.

I don't think the Celtics win an NBA championship either.

I hate the Patriots more than most people, but I don't know if I can get too upset about Belichek leaving the field. Most everyone thought that time had expired, so he shook hands with Coughlin and that was that. I guess technically he should've stayed on the sideline and waited five minutes for everyone to restore order so that the Giants could snap the football one last time, but was it really necessary? The guy just lost the Super Bowl, he shook hands with the opponent. What more was there for him to do? Watch Eli Manning say "hike" and put his knee on the ground? I don't think it's too big of a deal that he walked off. And for all we know, he could've just thought that the game was officially over.

Someone please convince me otherwise, I don't feel right sticking up for him or the team.

He definitely couldn't have been confused. As he walked out to shake Coughlin's hand, Mike Carey stood in front of him - stopping him - and told him the game wasn't over yet.

At that point, Belichick either said screw you to Carey or just ignored him. Either way it shows a lack of class. There's no excuse for the Pats to not show a little respect (for the first time ever) and stay on the field for one more second.

Just what is "hotty toddy" anyway?

Some Ole Miss chant, I think.

Correct, it's a cheer/chant that we do. I quit doing it (except at the start of each football game) at about my third or fourth football game my freshman year. It gets real old. It's usually led at the start of each football game by a celebrity. Snoop probably did the best one.

congrates OMC, your boy gotta ring

He had to go back to the locker room and destroy the tapes of the Giants. Coughlin outsmarted him and switched them with the Marx Brothers and 3 Stooges football videos.
