wait so now we are talking about how bill belichick is an a-hole? i thought it was silly to talk about the performance of the giants defense because everyone knew they were really good (even though they gave up 38 points to the pats the first time they played them), but let's all talk about how much of a dick bill belichick is? i think most patriots fans, as well as his kids and parents probably, know that he's a prick.

So what the heck DO you want us to talk about? Can't talk about Eli being good, because he's not. Can't talk about the Giants D being good, because they were only good last night. Can't talk about Belidick being a dick, because everyone knows this already.

Perhaps we should talk about Jeff Feagles?

Brandon Jacobs, plz.

Favre's retirement plz

;)

during the entire post-game celebration and interviews with the giants players, i couldn't stop laughing at how dumb the players looked with the xxxl championship t-shirts on over their pads.

uh yeah we can. they gave up 38 points to new england the first time, and 14 the second time. what'd they do different? why'd the patriots struggle more to pass protect last night than in any other game this year? why'd belichick go for it on 4th and 18, but not go for it on a couple of 4th and shorts? i can think of 100 more topics more interesting than "bill belichick is a dick," which will result in 50 different people saying "i agree, what a baby" or "i'm glad he lost, he has no class" and nobody disagreeing with the sentiment.

I wondered all night why in the world Belichick went for that fourth down. It was a long field goal attempt, but Gostkowski's proven he can hit it and even for the Pat offense 4th and more than 10 is very tough to get.

I thought it was a terrible decision and, like minnesotacubsfan said, it was likely made in complete and utter arrogance.

He proved his ability to carry a full load this season. It's a shame he only had 14 yards in the Super Bowl - even though almost every one of them were crucial.

14 carries, you mean. And enough of him running over Woodson. I prefer the image of him running over Harrison.

If we can finish 13-3 and the Bears finish 7-9 again, I wouldn't care at all if the Bears were to beat us twice.

Crap, you're right. I read that wrong - it seemed like he did better than 14 yards.

Jeebus, why can't we just talk about what we want to talk about? Belichek's dick move is interesting. You don't see a coach pull something like that all the time.

2007 - Oklahoma has a 7 point lead with under 2 minutes left in the Fiesta Bowl and loses by 1 point in OT

And the NE fans whining about the game clock has begun:

http://cgi.fark.com/cgi/fark/youtube.pl?IDLink=3376010

It's an interesting theory, but what this person doesn't really realize that the officials both cannot stand over the ball like they did at the end of the Jacobs play and also keep the time running. They either have to signal a first down immediately and let the Giants snap the ball, or they have to stop the clock. On the next play, They also have the ability to stop the clock on a pileup to make their possession call before restarting the clock. When they determined that the ball was down by contact, Coughlin then called the timeout.

I might agree with the video that the Giants got 10-15 seconds extra time, but certainly not enough to change the game.

I remember that game so vividly, I was winning by 5 points going into Monday night for my fantasy game. I only had Rex Grossman, he had no players left. So I can safely expect to win, right? Wrong

He scores -6 points so I lose by 1 point and miss the playoffs by 1 game to the guy that beat me in that game.

This game furthered the thought that Brady can get flustered if he starts getting hit. Seems like an obvious thought, but some folks can handle it better than others. I don't think Brady can handle it very well.

ANY QB gets rattled when he gets hit repeatedly, some to lesser extents

This is why no matter who you are, you need a good offensive line. Especially a Brady/Payton type who can't move.

Interesting how Peyton and Eli go back to back yet Archie never even played in a playoff game.

Surely they are the only three people from a family to each be on SI covers:

Are there even two people from a family that have been on separate covers?

Ouch, thats a good fantasy story. I probably would have pulled him from the game, but I don't think anyone expects to get -6 points

Prior to the game Rex had been tearing up the league though.

Exactly, but in H2H if you already have a win, why bother to play other players on Monday night? Sure Total points is the tiebreaker, but a W is also a pretty good tie breaker.

But like I said, up by 5 points, I would never expect Rex to get -6 points in that situation and would play him.

quick wikipedia research shows that dale earnhardt and dale jr., bill and luke walton, bobby and brett hull, calvin hill and grant hill, and the ripken gang were on separate covers (though the ripkens were together on 1 cover and cal's had many covers by himself, not sure if that counts).
