  1. it appears jay cutler wants out of denver and the bears seem to be a possible trade partner. also, the bears have supposedly shown interest in darren sharper.
  2. thank, wolf, great link. i had the pleasure of taking in a match at nevada smith's a few summers ago. it was a great time. it wasn't in the morning, it was when chelsea was in los angeles playing the galaxy. it was at 10 or 11 pm in nyc and the bar was full of chelsea supporters from all over. it was a great time even though the game was uneventful.
  3. the denver broncos are heading into their first draft without mike shanahan at the helm since 1994. the 2008 team was third worst in the league in points allowed with an atrocious 28 points per game, especially appalling considering they are in the afc west. clearly improving the defense is a priority. the denver broncos select LB Brian Cushing, USC.
  4. bears have make their first free agent signing. Frank Omiyale o-lineman from the panthers.
  5. I don't get why so many people think the best thing to do in a recession is to shame people into taking lower salaries. But Goodell should be taking a cut due to the NFL's decision to cut staff and tighten belts. BAseball has made a ton of money under selig's watch, and they've grown revenues exponentially. He deserves what he can get. this is the key point in the whole debate. is baseball laying off people? i haven't heard of any. they just started up their own tv channel.
  6. champions league fires back up tomorrow.
  7. maybe he invested with bernie madoff? maybe he's unsure of finding a job in the business world because of the poor state of the economy? maybe he bought a house with an adjustable mortgage rate and its about to balloon?
  8. you hear that? it's the other shoe dropping!!!!
  9. i'm still rooting for the guy. i can only hope he is still able to put together a respectable conclusion to this horrendous string of injuries he's been battling for 5 years now.
  10. is starks really that good? it seemed to me that roethlisberger barely survived the regular season. probably not. but he was an option at right tackle for '09. i'm looking for all other options besides st. clair.
  11. 2.5 million with incentives up to 7.
  12. max starks is off the market for tackles.
  13. view from 438, don't know about the row: http://www.seatdata.com/html/mlb_cubs/section_mlb_cubs_438.htm
  14. it's interesting to see the seemingly lack of interest in buying tickets this year compared to other years. i can remember in '04 it was crazy trying to get tickets, this thread was like a 100 pages long. i guess a bad economy and now anti-climatic regular seasons will do that.
  15. Damn man thats crazy, I only had 20 tabs open. This will be my first time ever sitting in the bleachers, Im pumped. Also secondary market for tickets right now is ridiculous. Hope you plan on getting really drunk in the bleachers. Otherwise, it's going to be extremely annoying for you. I can't stand sitting in the bleachers anymore. It's just one big frat party with people who know nothing about the Cubs or baseball in general. agreed. the bleachers suck unless you really want to party and get annoyed.
