  1. I'll take the over. I'll also guess that Lou will probably put Hill in there for the late innings if the over is "hit."
  2. This (Z pitching) is one hell of a "make good" for those of us screwed over by the rain 4/19! Too bad my buddies from Florida can't make it back up. I understand the rational of using Fox in the 1st game so that Lou has some flexibility in the second game. I'm scared to death though of a guy coming off pitching on short rest to a catcher who has never caught him before and as a result doesn't know what to look for (to avoid a possible injury) with his pitched. Also, I would suspect that Wells and Fox have worked together at least a few times while coming up through the system.
  3. Rotation out of the break Wells, Z, Lilly, Harden, Hart/Marshall/Pedro?
  4. Starting Z to get him another start before the break makes sense. I'd be shocking if Lou didn't put an 80-90 pitch count limit on him tonight. Have Shark ready to pitch 3 innings tonight and then you have Marshall who can pick up the slack tomorrow. Thursday is an off day and then it's business as usual. I'm guessing it's not Hart because the process of transportation back to Chicago and then getting into the right frame of mind are viewed as much more damaging than what they decided to do. That said, if Z hurts himself tonight or Sunday they've really screwed themselves. If I'm Hendry I have Pedro's agent on speed dial in case Dempster is goign to be out a month or more.
  5. The Cubs aren't going to give up anything close to their March proposal until Peavy's back from injury and proves that he's alright. That's not going to happen before the deadline. The Padres also aren't going to sell low on Peavy now. So we're talking about the offseason and by then Wells' value will either be lower or to a point where they don't want to deal him. I don't know A. Gonzalez's contract status but if the Cubs want to get another lefty in the lineup, a Peavy/Gonzalez for Wells/Guzman/Ascanio/Lee deal would be the only way I could see then justifying sending Wells out (if his value is high.)
  6. Well we have our answer...Z on 4 days of rest tonight. Looking like Wells and Z on Sunday. Anyone care to speculate who'll get the day game? If they want to matchup with STL's pitchers I would guess Z then Wells. Of course ESPN/MLB may like having Z instead of Wells pitch on national TV. Anyone else look at the weather for the weekend? It looks like they'll be dodging rain Friday and Saturday.
  7. Watching the postgame and Lou is saying he's going to play with the order again tomorrow. I'll put $5 down that Fuld is leading off and either Soriano or Bradley will sit with the other batting 5th. I'd liek to know what in the heck he is going to do once A-Ram is back. With how everyone is playing you almost have to shift Fox out to the OF, keep Fuld in there, and sit both of the overpaid dipshits.
  8. Probably one of the more enjoyable Cubs games I've been to the past few years. I know 101 isn't viewed to highly since there's no alcohol but it was cool to sit back and view the ballpark from that vantage point (usually sit near the visitor's bullpen.) The interactions between Phonsie and the bleachers were amusing as well. Looking forward to heading back up for the Cards makeup game on 7/12 :)
  9. Thanks!
  10. I've been trying to figure out what music they played as he came in yesterday. It bugged me all night trying to remember what is was and searching around the web didn't help anything. I'm not even sure if they just played it randomly or if he's finally settled into a song.
  11. I have tickets for Sunday and would love to see Lilly or Harden pitch (and the two-for-one would be awesome) so....let it rain, let it rain, let it rain. :clapping:
  12. same thing happened for me, It was made up in the summer so they had everyone get a refund for the postponed game so they could charge the higher rates for summer. i think this will be the same because this was a "gold" game and the July series is a "platinum" series If they pull that [expletive], I'm done going to Wrigley. I'll travel the extra hour and give Milwaukee or STL the money if I want to see the Cubs. Ricketts/Bankrupt Sam can kiss my a**. I've been a season ticket holder for the Bears for years and have never seen the McCaskey's stoop that low with anything. Rainouts do happen but if they were to do that, they's even shadier than cyan's scalping enterprise. I had friends come up from Florida for a weekend that was supposed to be capped off at the game. Instead we got a rainout, hit by an airport shuttle by the art institute, and the topper of all toppers a substandard (by their standards) pizza at Malnatti's on Wells. As we jokingly said...nothing like have mothernature and just about everyone else in that city [expletive] all over your birthday. MOD EDIT: Please don't use asterisks to try to circumvent the word filter.
  13. I'm curious how early in the afternoon/evening they would give up on getting it in AND if it is postponed, what kind of options we'd have. I am praying a miracle happens and it's just light drizzle. We have company up from Florida who will be long gone by the time a makeup game would happen Monday. We also have someone going who has to leave Champaign for work at 3am. I would suspect with it being ESPN that they wouldn't push the start time much past 9pm would they? Does the city have a say in how late a game can start? Really want to go to the game but if it's for naught, I'd rather go grab a table downtown and enjoy a nice meal before heading back.
