Roger Clemens' lead attorney told The New York Times that his firm is launching its own investigation into allegations the seven-time Cy Young winner used steroids and human growth hormone.

"We are convinced the conclusions in Mitchell's report are wrong and are investigating the findings ourselves," Rusty Hardin told The Times. "At this stage we have uncovered a lot of logical people who we thought Mitchell was going to talk to but never talked to him or his investigators. That's troubling."

Hardin declined to tell The Times the names of the individuals he was referring to.

Clemens will tell his side of the story in a CBS "60 Minutes" interview with Mike Wallace that will air Jan. 6. Hardin told The Times that Clemens will answer other reporters' questions after that interview.

I believe Roger Clemens.

But what do I know, I also believe in Santa Claus, The Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy and the Chicago Cubs.

You had me until you mentioned the Chicago Cubs.

Clemens' ego would never allow him to admit the truth. Either to the public, or to himself.

It really shouldn't come as a surprise after watching Bonds deny, deny, deny even after pretty solid proof he took the stuff.

Mitchell has a HGH stained dress that McNamee wore while shooting HGH into Clemens.

Typical Roger.. I wonder how much he sold himself for to CBS for the exclusive? And do him and his team not realize that publicly stating that you are hiring pi's to investigate McNamee make him look more guilty?

I wonder if he'll hire the same team OJ put together to find the perps. responsible for his wife's murder?

Just a random thought I had, but wouldn't there be a clause in every MLB player's contract that says that they can't break any federal laws or something along those lines? If so, could MLB teams seek to get money back from the players who get linked to steroids?

The NY times is not disclosing if Roger's nose grew during the interview and whether it was a pinky swear.

Is via injection the only way vitamin B - 12 and lidocaine can be taken?

Roger Clemens told Mike Wallace in an interview for “60 Minutes,” scheduled to be broadcast on Sunday night, that he received injections of the vitamin B-12 and the painkiller lidocaine from his former trainer Brian McNamee, but denied that McNamee injected him with steroids or human growth hormone, CBS said Thursday.

He said the lidocaine was for his joints and that he still took B-12.

Clemens said that it was “ridiculous” to say that he ever used banned substances.

“Swear?” Wallace said.

“Swear,” said Clemens

.

“Are you 4 realz?” Wallace said.

"Super serial, totally. Still BFF?” said Clemens

"4 Eva, Rock-it" Wallace said.

Love the use of the word "banned".

LOL, yeah I wonder how long it's going to take the larger masses to pick up on the huge loophole Roger is invoking with that particular word.

Oh, and as I'm sure everyone knows, the best way to tell a lie is between two truths. It's the classic smokescreen technique.

From the NY Times article:

Clemens’s admission that he took injections while denying that they contained steroids or H.G.H. will inevitably prompt comparisons with Barry Bonds, the slugger whom Clemens has at least temporarily joined on steroids’ Mount Rushmore.

Photoshop anyone?

So, I guess you'd have Jose Canseco, Bonds, Clemens and who? Big Mac?

Wonder who will blink when they are under oath? Let the "witch hunt" shrieks begin.

WASHINGTON -- Roger Clemens and the former trainer who said he injected the seven-time Cy Young Award winner with steroids and human growth hormone have been asked to testify before the House Oversight Committee at a Jan. 16 hearing, The Associated Press learned Friday.

Clemens should take all his money and just fade away.

If I could talk to him i'd tell him to drop the shovel.

He's only digging a deeper grave for himself.
