The Padres were informed Tuesday that they're out of the bidding for Kosuke Fukudome.

Fukudome didn't announce his decision, but it's believed that he'll pick the Cubs over the Padres, White Sox and Rangers. If the Padres had signed Fukudome, they probably would have gone with Scott Hairston and/or Chase Headley in left field. Now they'll again focus on landing two outfielders, with Mike Cameron and Geoff Jenkins among the possibilities.

isn't bruce levine usually wrong? or am i thinking of someone else.

No. Levine is pretty solid.

and the other Bruce is superb, also.

Eh, Levine has definitely been somewhat of a whipping boy on here. Most people don't grant him a whole lot of credibility because he reported that a big move was near in 05 or 06 and nothing ever happened.

Not that I agree with that sentiment, though, but Truffle was probably thinking of the right guy.

I liked you better when you were davhern.

Can confirm deal but not money yet. Four years.

Not to be a kissass, but the fact that you post on here is pretty awesome, not gonna lie.

That's alot of money to pay him, however all contracts signed on the free agent market are bad.

says the guy excited about the cordero contract.

good job, hendry.

The way I see it is only 2.5 mil more than 10 mil per. 2.5 mil is nothing for the Cubs.

Ya know, I could kiss you right now.

Instead, let me just offer up a heartfelt thanks, though. I figure I owe you at least that much.

What? When did I say we didn't overpay for Cordero?

Again, welcome to MLB 2007. If you want to sign someone on the open market, you will have to overpay.
