  1. Just saw the D-Cubs lineup for tonight...I guess it hadnt hit me yet just how boring and unimportant all their positions players are, besides Torreyes. yuck.
  2. Maybe Soler will be the first player to be promoted purely out of concern for opponent safety. In all seriousness, hope the guys is alright.
  3. Logan Watkins continues to hit...almost up to .290 now. What is his ceiling? Is he a utility guy, or could he end up a starter at 2b?
  4. So when can we start getting excited about Geiger?
  5. Random observation, but Micah Gibbs has had a power surge this year (SSS, yes). He's got 4 HRs in 60 ABs this year. In 450 previous ABs in the minors, he had 2. What's his upside? Is he a guy with some power? Catchers with power are nice commodities. How is he as a fielder?
  6. "Still funny to see that I'm a pitcher! Atleast I'm in the National League!" From Lang.
  7. 5'11'' guy, new to pitching, reportedly hit 97 says Callis. If true, an 18 year old LHP with that kind of velocity is a nice gamble in round 5
  8. Apparently Anthony Giansanti is giving catcher a try. It'd be more interesting if he were younger or if he was a better hitter, but it can't hurt to see.
  9. He's gone through a big adjustment period at pretty much every level so far before turning it on and becoming productive. This gives me hope for his future. Still like him as a starter at 3b in the next year or so. Same here. Stewart is just keeping his seat as warm as Stewart can keep it, nice and lukewarm. Still think he can turn into a Travis Fryman type player. That sure would be nice. A guy who can hit around .280 with 15-20 HR is a nice piece to the puzzle. He may not walk quite as much though.

  11. Now a HR for Vitters, #5 on the year.
  12. Clevenger is 3-3 with a 2b and HR. I'd say it's about time they get him back in Chicago. Maybe they give him another day in Iowa and bring him up this week.
  13. He seems like he's gotten off to a slow start at every level of the minors before adjusting and ultimately performing relatively well. This year is no different.
  14. I hope they aren't bringing Cardenas up to sit on the bench. I think we all know what Barney is by this point. He's a nice backup 2b/SS who shouldn't be starting for most teams. I'd like to see what Cardenas has to offer.
  15. Don't forget Cardenas 2-3 with 3 RBI. His bandwagon sure is lonely. I'm still on it (though I haven't been on here to proclaim it really). He could still be a very useful major league player. I actually think he'd be a nice 2 hole hitter or maybe a guy who can hit in the 7th spot and give you some offense down there. I wonder if Stewart keeps struggling the way he has if Cardenas gets first crack at 3b?
