Let that be a lesson to any aspiring AD's out there.....Schedule an embarrassingly easy ooc slate and only lose once in the equivalent of the Mountain West Conference and you will be sitting in the national title game.

In fairness, Ohio State (who I dislike) generally plays a marquee non-conference game. They played Texas the last two years and pick up USC next year. I agree with your point, of course, the don't deserve to be in the title game.

Once again this argument would hold weight if OSU had barely beaten these "weak" teams, but outside of 2 games all year(Illinois and Mich St) they dominated everybody. They allowed more than 17 points 1 time all year, and averaged over 32 points. Its not like Mizzou played a juggernaut of a schedule.

If OSU wins or even makes it less than 10 are you going to give a mea culpa. I understand that OSU didnt play the toughest schedule but they manhandled everyone except Illinois. LSU may have played a better schedule but probably should have lost a couple of more games. Just off the top of my head they very easily could have lost to Tennessee yesterday and Auburn and Florida. That the go along with the 2 losses they do have. If this wasnt going to be a home game for LSU I would pick OSU to win outright.

Every SOS measure has Mizzou with a significantly better SOS. They played a team better than anyone OSU has played, and played them twice(neither at home).

I agree with what you are saying, but Mich St gave them a fight too.

I fully expect Illinois to lose, and I fully expect USC to be favored by 2 TDs.

My hope is that Illinois makes the game competitive and has a chance to win in the 4th quarter, just like every game this year.

And they lost both times, and the 2nd time the game was never really in question. OK dominated Mizzou yesterday.

I agree Mizzou got screwed but it was at the expense of KU not U of I or Ohio State.

Yep. I thought it was laughable when, on the selection show, the interviewer tried to insinuate that tOSU had to overcome prejudice to get to the title game. That team would never be in the title game if their jerseys had a different nae on the front.

Most of the computers have Ohio State and Oklahoma having almost the exact same strength of schedule. Before Oklahoma lost to Texas Tech, I didn't hear anybody complaining about their schedule like they do about Ohio State's.

i got to tell you, i just don't see usc running away with it. i think they're going to be stunned by the tenacity of our o-line.

It depends on how it plays out. If they show they are by far the better team then yes I will eat my words, but as was proven this year anything can happen in any football game. As for the manhandling point, how many games do you expect them to struggle in with that schedule? You can make a reasonable argument that they should have only struggled in two playing the slate they played.

Let's not get carried away here. If you look at the numbers, we actually lead in nearly every category in the first half. We stayed in the locker room in the 2nd half, I'll give you that. But to say that we got "dominated" is a complete lie.

I think people will be surprised how many OSU fans find their way into that game. It will be a pro-LSU crowd, no doubt, but not near as much as it could've been against other teams.

Oh they will travel no doubt. The question is will the team come with them this time.

I for one welcome Illinois' position as this year's Notre Dame of BCS participants, a team that nobody thinks measures up to the rest, and is universally considered in only because of politics and tradition.

First Rose Bowl in 24 years, though!

They didn't dominate anything. OU had 60 more total yards than Mizzou. They didn't dominate our offense. At all. They just made plays when they had to. Look, I'll be the first to admit that they played a better game than us and deserved to win. But, again, to say that they dominated us just simply isn't true.
