(1) Ohio State vs. (2) LSU OSU(-3)

Well guess the odd setters dont really agree with half this board huh. U of I -6 and OSU -3.

The only reason LSU is favored is basically because its a home game.

Let that be a lesson to any aspiring AD's out there.....Schedule an embarrassingly easy ooc slate and only lose once in the equivalent of the Mountain West Conference and you will be sitting in the national title game.

Once again this argument would hold weight if OSU had barely beaten these "weak" teams, but outside of 2 games all year(Illinois and Mich St) they dominated everybody. They allowed more than 17 points 1 time all year, and averaged over 32 points. Its not like Mizzou played a juggernaut of a schedule.

Every SOS measure has Mizzou with a significantly better SOS. They played a team better than anyone OSU has played, and played them twice(neither at home).

And they lost both times, and the 2nd time the game was never really in question. OK dominated Mizzou yesterday.

I agree Mizzou got screwed but it was at the expense of KU not U of I or Ohio State.

Let's not get carried away here. If you look at the numbers, we actually lead in nearly every category in the first half. We stayed in the locker room in the 2nd half, I'll give you that. But to say that we got "dominated" is a complete lie.

OU's D dominated that game.

They didn't dominate anything. OU had 60 more total yards than Mizzou. They didn't dominate our offense. At all. They just made plays when they had to. Look, I'll be the first to admit that they played a better game than us and deserved to win. But, again, to say that they dominated us just simply isn't true.

Hahah.

24-3 in the second half.

You had five possessions in the second half, three of which were 3-and-outs. Scratch that, two were three-and-outs and one was a two play drive that ended in an interception. One was an 11 play drive that ended in a punt, the other was a 9-yard play that ended in a field goal. You were dominated.

OSU favored by 3. I admit I am surprised by this.

Oops I read that wrong. Guess all the odd makers dont agree with the so called experts here .

Half this board thinks that last years bowl results have something to do with this years. Also Illinois is plus 6 and OSU is favored.

Those were my odds guys. I'm sure Vegas won't agree with me.

Oh, and June Jones just ripped Tim Tebow on ESPN calling him a system QB. Meph's booking his flight to Hawaii right now.

Well, to be fair, June Jones knows his system QBs. I think I saw Timmy Chang sweeping the floor at K-Mart the other day.

I will bet you a years worth of premium on the U of I game. Ill take those 21 you are so sure of.

Nah, no betting. I figured I would get my picks out there early that way they don't get lost in the middle of the thread since this will inevitably be a monster thread by the time January 1 rolls around. This way, if I'm wrong, you can give me all the crap in the world about it.

I for one welcome Illinois' position as this year's Notre Dame of BCS participants, a team that nobody thinks measures up to the rest, and is universally considered in only because of politics and tradition.

First Rose Bowl in 24 years, though!

Please.....name me one single team that deserved the BCS game over ND either of the last two years, just one.

WVU last year had a good argument.

I'm not complaining that ND got in but WVU had just as good of a case as ND did.

Yea honestly we should prob just have a Rose bowl thread because there is going to be a lot of talk about it. Almost a month to wait, that sucks.

So, credential wise, is kU the worst team in the history of the BCS? None of the teams they beat got a single top 25 vote this week. Not one.

Oh look, somebody who's paid to be a college football expert doesn't know how the BCS works and claims the Fiesta Bowl passed on ASU.

By the time the Fiesta got to pick they could choose West Virginia or Hawaii and nobody else. The Orange screwed things up by inexplicably picking KU.

I think there was a backroom deal between Fiesta and Orange to get the 2nd Big 12 team in the BCS, but the Fiesta wouldn't have to have Big 12 vs. Big 12.

College football expert also mentioned the possibility of a +1 game on the horizon. Can't wait until the +1 is implemented and in its first year there are 2 undefeated BCS schools who wind up getting screwed over because of it.

They had a decent argument but were ranked 12th in the BCS compared to ND's 10th and there was plenty of separation between them. ND was also 2 spots higher in the human polls.

Pitt '05.

Mark Mangino on the phone on ESPN, yet they're showing a picture of him with it. The point of having Mangino on the phone rather than via satellite is that you don't have to look at him.
