OH insider said that Roberts has asked to be traded soon(if they are going to trade him). He thinks things have heated up considerably and that Roberts and Payton will be coming to the Cubs.

I think we need a title update. =D>

At this point I don't really even care if Roberts is a Cub, I just want the rumors to end one way or another.

I'm not going to post in this thread anymore because I'm scared.

My, what value you've brought to this and the sliding thread with your last two posts.

Belkast had this to say when someone asked him if Roberts would be traded to either the Cubs or wouldn't be traded at all:

I still think it will be the Cubs BUT the Indians are very much in the picture as well.

I don't buy that rumor about the Indians are "very much in the pic" unless they are planning on moving either Cabrera to short (which would leave Peralta available, to which the Cubs could actually fill a need).

And I don't understand why the Cubs/O's/Indians can't work out a 3 team trade?

Cubs get: Peralta

Indians get: Roberts

O's get: Barfield, Gallagher, Cedeno, pitching prospect.

We need an ignore thread option.

Roberts still doesn't make sense to me unless DeRo is playing SS.

Restraint is also an option. Nobody is making anyone come in here. Everyone knows that its a one tangent after another in here, but I think it's understood that this thread is more a microcosm of the trade scenario that is 'Brian Roberts to the Cubs'. As long as everyone can respect each other here there it will be fine. But that is really no different from any other thread is it? Take this thread for what it is.

How the hell did the Indians get into this :rotfl:

You're going to ban someone for making an off topic post in a thread that's 220 pages long? Haha, seriously?

Can we get Asdrubal Cabrera from them if they get Roberts? I've been coveting him for the past year now.

I believe the Indians are in the picture. The real question is which team is Andy using as leverage? My guess, on the surface, is he's using the Indians to try to get Hendry to increase the package. I say that b/c of the time they've put into this thing and b/c of their relationship. However, Cleveland could get Roberts if they are willing to part with more than the Cubs.

I'd love for some ambitious person with a free week with nothing better to do to recap every inside info that has been posted by OH about this trade, and see how wildly their guarantees have varied over the past 2 months.

It also wouldn't surprise me if MacPhail is intentionally leaking new info about a second team. He was also quoted earlier today alluding to more than one team in the mix. He seemed to use this tactic against the Mariners (the Cubs were used as leverage to try to up the stakes).

I don't think the Indians are in, to be honest. I mean realize there was a burp about a Guiterrez (sp?)/Miller deal about a month or so ago, and since then....zip. I personally believe MacPhail is trying to use a past rumor to drum up leverage in this deal, especially after Roberts saying he would welcome a trade. If they are in, again, how come the Cubs/Indians/O's haven't talked about a three team trade? Each team have what the other is needing, and yet apparently common sense is severely lacking by all three GMs.
