Why does OSU even get a free pass? They played a ridiculous schedule, lost at home, and didn't have to play in a conference champ. game.

OSU is the Big 10 conference champion. Doesn't matter that they don't have a championship game like the ACC, Big 12 and SEC. They won the conference.

I think he's saying the fact they're getting a free pass into the NC game.

Conference Champions and their losses:

Ohio State: #15 Illinois

OU (assuming status quo): Texas Tech and Colorado

Southern Cal: Stanford and #17 Oregon

Virginia Tech: #7 LSU and #11 Boston College

WVU: #21 South Florida and Pittsburgh

LSU: Arkansas and Kentucky

Seriously, you can make a case for any of those five being #2 behind Ohio State. Heck, you could probably make a case that all five of those teams are markedly better than OSU!

I think they all *are* better than Ohio State.

Mizzou is getting screwed out of a BCS game.

Mizzou's biggest win was against Kansas whose biggest win was against Colorado. Neither Kansas or Mizzou should get a BCS bowl bid, but Kansas will play in the Fiesta.

technically no, but their final game vs Michigan was for the title

Right, but in every other conference they would have had to win that game plus another and look how that's working out for Missouri.

Because everybody all year has talked about how OSU wasnt that good etc.... Im not surprised that you, and Im sure others all feel that about 15 teams are supposedly better than OSU.

Why do you say that?

I don't see why LSU and Georgia are being considered and USC isn't.

Yep. Granted they have a much worse loss than those two teams but they also have a best loss, so to speak, out of those teams (as Oregon's final rank will be deceiving since they tanked after Dixon went down).

And Booty's injury was a big factor in USC losing both games.

The same could be said for WVU with Pat White, though,

Agreed.

USC and WVU have very similar resumes, IMO. Both had horrible home losses. Really USC's only quality win is Arizona St. CAL and Nebraska were ranked when they played, but neither is a bowl team anymore. WVU gets quality wins vs. UConn and Cincy, but those 2 are not as good as USC's quality win.

The Pac-10 and Big East don't. The other four conferences all do, though.

At least everyone plays each other in the Big East and Pac-10.

Ohio State sucks. I'd argue they're the worst team of all the conference champions.

Ohio State could compete with every single conference champ imo. I think just about all these teams are so close and evenly matched this year, that none of them are that much better than the other, and on a neutral field its a tossup.

You'd be wrong. I don't think they are as talented as Oklahoma, LSU, or USC, but could beat any on any given day. Ohio St. has the most quality loss of the group and were the most consistent team of the group.

Conference championship games sometimes matchup teams that played each other during the regular season. It's one more hurdle that Big 12, ACC, and SEC teams must face.

As this year has proved, any team can beat any other team on any given day so sayinat OSU could beat OU, LSU, and USC on any given day doesn't really say anything.

That's what they get for having 12 teams in their conferences. If they only had 8-10 teams like the BE and Pac-10, they wouldn't need a title game.

I don't exactly feel sorry for those 3 conferences that created a championship game for only one reason: money. Then they complain that it's an extra hurdle, but it's a self-imposed hurdle. I also don't see why its fair that the other 3 conferences have to have championship games just because the other 3 conferences were greedy.

Well, now we have BCS chaos.

OSU is the lock, but who will they play?

I think it should be between LSU, USC, Kansas, and Hawaii. Of course, Georgia and VaTech are in the running too, but I don't see how either of those should be chosen over LSU.

It's going to be interesting to watch what the voters do. Will they just move everyone up a spot or will they rethink the ballots?

Exactly. Its not like OSU was barely getting by these "weak" teams. They dominated every non conference opponent, and didnt allow more than 17 points to anybody besides U of I. They dominated basically everybody on their schedule.
