Vance may be right. If WVU and Missouri both lose it's going to get very messy. There is one computer ranking out there that allows you to add certain results to see what happens to the rankings. I added in 5 games from today (including WV and Missouri losing) and what happened?

LSU and Va Tech jumped Ohio State and Georgia to become the number 1 and 2 teams in this computer ranking. If even half the computer rankings are like this, things could get interesting.

If both WVU and Missouri lose I'd guess Ohio State would be the No. 1 team. They'll be unanimous or close to it in the Coaches Poll and probably in the Harris Poll which are 2/3 of the BCS. As for No. 2, who knows. Do you put Georgia in even though they didn't even make the SEC title game? What about LSU and USC? I don't see how anyone with half a brain could vote Virginia Tech over LSU considering what happened when the two teams played so I would have to assume that Va Tech has no chance of making the title game, and justifiably so.

rucker is a man-child.

Dude is such a beast. I'm telling you, what you saw on that play is the norm when it comes to trying to tackle him.

The justification is that Virginia Tech and LSU are completely different teams than the ones who played a long time ago now. Tech was starting a different quarterback then they are now, and LSU's defense was playing so well back in week 2. LSU hasn't looked like that team in a couple of months now, and voters may take that into account. It may not be right, but how you're playing at the end of the year counts for a lot. Besides, history has proven that head to head doesn't mean much in selecting that second team, and 2001 is a great example of that.

I'd be very shocked if Rucker doesn't get in the first round, especially for a team that needs a TE. I believe he's the best TE in the game.

There was no scenario that I imagined that had WVU losing this game at home. 17-7 Pitt.

Nope. The TD got taken away on a horrible holding call. UConn missed a field goal, and it's still 10-7.

Event a 13-7, losing Pat White is significant, IMHO.

LSU won that game 48-7. Va Tech played E. Carolina, William and Mary, Ohio University, and a weak ACC. Both of LSU's losses came in triple overtime. I really don't think there is any justification.

Any chance a squeaked out win by WVU give OSU a chance to leapfrog?

It's possible, but I doubt it. Ohio State is just so far down in the computers compared to WV that they'd have to have a pretty decent edge in both polls in order to have a shot to leapfrog, and given the skepticism towards Ohio State this year I just cannot see that many people jumping them over WV.

i guess i'm a wuss, 'cause i'd be sprinting outta that stadium with that 100k check.

oh, wait. you get 75K no matter what? I might've taken a shot at it then.

WVU is doing all they can to lose this game.

And LOL at their backup's QB's last name being 'Brown'.

I know somebody mentioned it earlier in the thread but Missouri's all-black uni's are sick.
