We'll just have to hope he has problems with his back like he's had in the past. His career high for numbers of games played in a season is 114.

 

That being said, he'll probably be the only guy on the team who is healthy all season.

I seem to recall a few years ago Choi doing well in his winter league.

 

Wasn't that the AFL and before his concussion? It's apples and oranges.

 

This is how Ronny did in the same winter league last season: .230/.284/.324.

I don't think he'll be in the organization next spring. Which is a mistake if it's because of someone like Infante (or Kaz at the price tag).

no but seriously what is the point of all this? at the middle infield we now have:

 

theriot ss/2b

cedeno ss/2b

fontenot 2b/terrible ss

matsui 2b/terrible ss

derosa 2b/terrible ss

 

probably the two best hitters here are derosa and matsui, but neither one will play ss. You're still left with a black hole at SS and a surplus of mediocre middle infielders. I fear that this is being done with the intention of something really stupid, like playing DeRosa a lot in RF and Matsui at 2B.

 

You forgot Infante.

 

Yep, 6 MIFs. It's like a bad Hendry parody.

Eric Patterson would probably hit just as well as Fontenot at 2B in the majors. But he held down Hendry's cat while Marshall skinned it alive.
