Say no to Tejada! When the Mitchell report comes out I wouldn't doubt seeing his name in there. He is past is prime and more suited for 3rd base not shortstop.

But, we do all agree that the Cubs need to upgrade offensively at SS, right?

So, if it's not Matsui, and it's not ARod, and DeRosa can't make the shift, who is it?

It's Tejada. He's gonna get traded for way less than he's worth. The Orioles are idiots.

I'd have to see it to believe it with Tejada. Angelos has blocked Tejada trades so many times that I can't believe he would ok a Tejada trade now for less than he's worth.

My hope is that with MacPhail there now that Angelos will pull back on the meddling. Just a hope really. This Matsui talk is killing me.

Maybe Kaz can still play shortstop?

Kaz never could play short.

Yes he could. He wasn't great there but he was more than adequate. He's better than Jeter there, not that that's saying much.

OK. If he could play, why did the Mets move him to second and put Reyes BACK at short. I appriciate the Jeter shot, but I am not going there.

How does he compare offensively and defensively with Theriot? Kaz just reminds me of a 260/310 hitter with little pop and I just don't see the advantage over what the Cubs already have. I'm not a big Theriot fan but tying up into a 3/14 type deal just doesn't make sense to me.

Reyes was a pretty good defensive shortstop in his own right and has a better arm than Matsui does.

Yes and the Mets moved him to second in order to play Matsui at short. and it failed miserably. They couldn't wait to get him to second, then he failed under the pressure. The best thing that happend to Kaz was going to Colorado. If he is smart, he stays there.

As for the Cubs, they have a shortstop-- CEDENO. Just let him play and his bat will come around. Please let the man play. I stocked up on RCs!! LMAO

He's legit.

Speaking of SS's, would Milwaukee be willing to deal Bill Hall to the Cubs for a respectable return? Or would they not make a potential impact trade to a team in the same division?

So Matsui is getting a 3/13 offer? If Hendry wanted an all-glove no-stick SS why didn't he just hang on to Izturis and pick up his option for $5.45M? It would have been only a one-year committment instead of the three years that Matsui will get. I HATED having Izzy here and certainly didn't want to see his option exercised but 3/13 for Matsui is enough to make me want Izzy back.

Thanks for the confidence. I don't what I did to that guy, but he seems to want to fight me. LOL

I'm not fighting you nor do I want to. I'm trying to convince you that the Yankees problems are not centered around Alex Rodriguez and letting him go is not the answer to all their problems. It's a move that makes them worse off and you can't seem to grasp that. You keep screaming team team team and bring up the 98 yankees offense being better because it was a team.

LOL, that's Ok. I am a big boy I can take it. It just seems I have hit some nerve with you. Didn't mean to. And I thought it was just my A-Rod stance.

Anyway the Cubs would be making a bigger mistake than usual signing Kaz. Plus as much as Hall would help, Mil wouldn't make that trade in division.

LOL. I never screamed the 98 Yanks had a better offense. I said that team was a better TEAM then the current crop of pinstripes. Pitching, defense, desire to win, heart and soul! Nothing about being better offensively.

I am also not anti-Alex. Let him get that money elsewhere. I am willing to suffer a bad season or two after losing him. He is a great player, I just don't like him on my team. And contrary to your belief, I know the Yankees have more problem than A-Rod. I have said as much in other threads! There are many flaws and I see them. Pavano, Farnsworth, Sheff over Vlad, they Yankees have made MANY mistakes and I don't put it on one guy.

Yet you can't seem to wait to be rid of the best player in baseball...

Pitching, defense, desire to win, heart and soul!

Only one of those things is relevant, and it has nothing to do with Alex Rodriguez.

In other words you say they're better because they won, but because they desired to win. If the 06/7 Yankees won a WS you'd claim they won because they desired it more?

THe 1998 Yankees didnt desire it more than the 2007 Yankees. The 1998 Yankees didnt desire it more than the 2003 Tigers.
