Hmm. Everything I have read has said he would be out 8 games. I've never read otherwise til now. But technically, isn't the first semester over when classes are over? Finals week is just that, there are no classes.

I was under the impression he ostensibly had to "re-qualify." Meaning, if he didn't pass his finals, he wouldn't be eligible at all. I don't know, I certainly hope he can play against Kentucky, but didn't think he could.

It's disturbing that UCLA still can't hack a zone defense even with such a skilled big man. At least Collison looked better today, he's still not all the way back.

Oh, and while Mata-Real brought the Bruins ahead, Love should have been in at the end. That was an awful decision by Howland.

I think final exam week is considered part of the semester, since that's when semester grades are largely determined. I'd think that for eligibility purposes the semester would end when final grades are posted, because that's when it would be known whether a player regains eligibility.

wow, Texas upsets the Raisins at Pauley Pavilion. Very exciting game.

UCLA rimmed out the game-winning three at the buzzer.

I really wish Durant was still around, that would have made for a fun team.

Augusten would have gotten a lot more recognition last year if not for Durant.

Who's #34 for Wisconsin? That was a total bitch move by him in the Wisconsin-Wofford game. I'd have kicked him out of the game. Just a T!?

Wow. Scary game. IU wins 84-72 over a game Tennessee St. team. Of course, anyone looks tough when Eric Gordon leaves midway thru the 1st half with a bruised tailbone. IU played the last 28 minutes with just 1 scholarship player under 6'5". DJ White with a monster game! Career high 29 points, 13 boards, and 4 blocks. Jamarcus Ellis with 10 points, 10 assists, and 7 boards, but did have 7 TOs as he played the point forward most of the game. The senior class really stepped up and provided the leadership as Mike White contributed 11 points and 8 rebs. Lance Stemler had just 9 points, but hit back to back 3s when the IU lead was cut to just 7 points. Saturday vs. UK will be nice just to get some more guards back on the floor. Gordon's injury didn't look too serious, and I suspect he would play.

ND gets a gigantic win they had to have over Kansas State 68-59. Truth be told they didn't play well and let KSU back in with some dumb plays. Harangody (19/14) is a monster. I'm ready for Big East season.

Well Iowa will probably lose by 20 or more to UNI Wednesday night.

Tony Freeman probably won't be back until next week with his injury. The freshman starting PG playing with a broken thumb for the last two weeks won't be available because his grandmother just died and he'll be at the funeral. Our former walk-on wing who was forced to backup PG with Freeman's injury was arrested for public intox Sunday night and is suspended.

Long story short we have no PG for the game and only 3 guards/wings available to fill the 1, 2 and 3 spots. Lickliter has to be wondering what he did to deserve this as he watches the #13 ranked Butler team he built continue to roll.

The Hawks win 62-55 at UNI! Unbelievable! I gave us zero chance to win this game.

Freeman came back and had 15, freshman SG Jake Kelly had 19. We absolutely abused them on the boards and led all night long. By far the best played game of the year and it's not close.

Huge win for Lickliter!

Another Ball State game, another frustratingly close loss to a good opponent. This time it's 70-57 to Purdue in a game we led 44-42 before the Boilers decided they weren't going to miss three-pointers anymore (which the last 4 opponents have all done).

Ball St. was 6-7 from beyond the arc. Hard to complain about the other team's hot shooting.

You should beat Arkansas St.

Yeah, this was our best-shooting game of the year, and I'm not quite sure where it came from since Purdue is so good on defense.

Indiana St. on Saturday is winnable too, and I think two straight wins would do wonders for this team's confidence.

great win for the purple and white as we beat St. Joe's on the road (sorry CT). Now we have 2.5 weeks off as it's finals period - Patriot League basketball players actually have to attend real classes and do their own work, so they need the study time.

St. Joe's is a solid team, nice win there Truffle.

yeah this year is the best example of what a great coach Ralph Willard is. We graduated our two best players in May, and are still playing at a very high level, because a number of players on this year's team have improved by leaps and bounds. Adam May, who Ralph once described by saying he's "so bad defensively he couldn't cover a chair," is now a decent defensive player and is giving solid production down the offensive end. I don't see us losing only one game in PL play, but the team is already pretty far ahead of where I thought they'd be.
