I still haven't heard from my friend, but I will certainly be in attendance on saturday and sunday. And, apparently, I will be meeting CT. This could be interesting.

FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!

Roast is the one kicking and Ct is the skinny one.

:lmao:

Does anybody know if there are still relatively cheap hotels available for saturday night? If so, I'm in.

I'm staying at a cheap motel not far from Wrigley. It's only costing me $65 a night. Of course, I think I'm going to bring my own sheets. At that price, I'm not sure what the bed will look like.

Dear god, I'm reading some reviews of that place online now.

It's scaring me.

Do you have to stay around wrigley? Take the EL near OHare and get 4 star hotels for what they are getting 2 star hotel around downtown. I looked downtown at prices, that's freaking nuts.

The best prices I seen downtown is 249 per night at the Palmer House Hilton, which is a steal for current rates.

The best prices via public transportation is by O"hare, 3 star hotels for 119, 4 stars for 179. Which would be take the blue line to a transfer stop to the red line to addison.

My friends and I paid $52 a night at a hotel about 10-15 minutes from Lake Shore Drive when we went to Chicago in late July.

Granted, it was a blatant cover-up for a prostitution ring (different rates for 10 hours or overnight, mirrors all over the room including the ceiling, etc.), but hell, for $52 a night that close to downtown, I don't care what it's covering up for as long as I don't have to be involved.

Next time you tell that story, say that you were involved.

I wouldn't suggest it. That takes about an hour and forty-five minutes.

You want to take the Blue Line to the Addison stop, get on the Addison 152 CTA bus, and ride that to Wrigley.

Yup...or possibly Skokie/Evanston area and taking skokie swift (yellow) or purple and transferring to red and getting off at Addison.

Regardless, I'd suggest finding a nearby suburb to stay in and taking a train to the game. Downtown prices are ridiculous right now.

Skokie Swift doesn't run on weekends.

Where is that? I've seen some seedy places in the city - notably the good ol' Mark Twain hotel just down the street from my apt - but haven't heard about the hotel w/ wall-to-wall mirrors.

It was the Lincoln Inn. I can't remember offhand what street it was on but it was across from a Walgreens and the street took you straight to Lake Shore.

this description sounds like 75% of all streets in Chicago, walgreens and heading towards to lake shore drive.

Just so you guys know, that review in Spanish at the bottom...

That basically says "There were bugs in the bed." Oh, and "I didn't have a very nice night."
