OTHER GAMES OF INTEREST

GEORGETOWN @ HOLY CROSS 1 PM

I see we have a lobbyist for a 4th I-AA team in that tab.

Added.

I'm really not sure if I want to go see the Pathetic Losers suck again in person on Saturday. Probably will depend on how hot it is.

Do you mean how cold it is? Not sure I believe this forecast but . . .

Holy crap that would be spectacular. And even if it isn't accurate, anything in the 80's would be far, far better than the 100+ on September 1 for the opener.

It is very strange wanting to watch illinois football again. I hope we do well this week.

Syracuse is terrible and the worst team in our long long history. I'm glad that you Illinois guys are happy to be 2-1 but you just beat a team that is worse than Buffalo.

Am I the only fan that didn't know that Charleston Southern even had a football team? Why to go Hawaii.

Texas A&M vs Miami will rid some doubts about both teams.

I still think Michigan St is a team to watch along with Arizona St. I'd say Cincy but I'd be accused of being a BE homer!

Texas has to step up and beat Rice, is Applegate their OC?

Will this be a year that OSU doesn't really dominate but yet, wins all their games? They did a nice job at Washington and won 40-14, did they really crush them like that or did it get out of hand? I didn't watch any games this weekend and I was really interested in that game.

Kentucky at Arkansas should be very interesting and Kentucky gets LSU and Florida at home later so this is a very big game for them.

BC looks like they should steamroll through the ACC unless Clemson gives a match up problem in November.

ND is killing a lot of teams SOS, especially the ones that really counted on them as their only good out of conference game.

Louisville's D gets a big test this weekend against Syracuse. If they give up 20, they have an even worse defense than I thought. If they had a D they'd be incredible. The Cards may score 80 in this one.

Oklahoma at Tulsa looks like fun. I give the Sooners some credit for going to Tulsa.

Unless I'm mistaken, Tennessee is the only SEC team to play an out of conference away game out of 12 teams. That's amazing.

So whats your point? I keep seeing people say this, but do you people not realize that we as Illinois fans are happy because in the previous years, we are what Syracuse is. However we actually won this game, unlike years past, and we as Illinois fans arent expecting a NC this year, but we do know our team is very talented, and has another top recruiting class on its way. Its been quite awhile that Illinois fans have even wanted to mention the word football. We are on the right track, and its extremely exciting watching these young talented kids coming in.

I'm happy for you guys and you do seem to be on the right track. I'm just telling you that you just beat a horrible team who would lose to a bunch of D2 teams. I apologize if this sounded like you guys are not that good, I suppose I was just trying to guard your enthusiasm a little but you're right, have fun with it and enjoy the ride.

Penn State ends their long drought against Michigan this week. UM is awfully one dimensional with Henne on the sidelines. One dimensional teams verse the Penn State defense is not a recipe for success even with a good Oline and Hart. If Henne were in the game id feel differently as they would be much more balanced. Mallett will be good but this 2007 not 2009. PSU doesnt run the option spread so UM D stands a chance, but their offense isnt strong enough against the PSU defense for me to imagine them winning this one.

It's weird that the IU-U of I winner has an inside track to a bowl game, and even the loser could get a bowl bid too.

Not sure if you'd call the entire conference better or worse because of that. Looks like at least this is the first year that nobody in the conference will be a cakewalk.

Or Northwestern. Losing to Duke is not a good thing.

Hopefully Michigan puts up a good fight against Penn State. It's going to be interesting to see if Michigan can run against PSU's defense. If not, we're pretty much screwed.

Yeah, the IU/UI game is potentially huge. Both teams have more talent than they've had since the late 90s. Should be a good one. Glad it's in Bloomington.

Michigan by two touchdowns.

I don't know how much UM will win by but I feel pretty confident saying they will beat Penn State.

I don't think Penn State is very good, UM has the better starting QB and offense in general, and the game is at the Big House.

Geaux Tigers!

I will be traveling to Red Stick for this game. Its my first trip to LSU.

Have a good time in Death Valley.

Thanks. I am seriously pumped for this game.

i think this year proves that being at the Big House has little to no effect on the game

Michigan has a nice offense still, but they've been losing because of DEFENSE. They've only showed they can play D in one game this year. And I'm not sure playing defense against ND takes much.

And Michigan has a better QB? I'm not a huge Morelli fan, but Mallett certainly isn't better at this point.

Michigan is a talented team and winning this game is possible. However, UM hasn't shown any real reasons why they could win this game.
