Michigan by two touchdowns.

I don't know how much UM will win by but I feel pretty confident saying they will beat Penn State.

based on?

I don't think Penn State is very good, UM has the better starting QB and offense in general, and the game is at the Big House.

i think this year proves that being at the Big House has little to no effect on the game

the kid on his second start is the better starting quarterback?

Michigan's defense held Notre Dame's offense to fewer total yards than Penn State did. Michigan's offense also looked better than Penn State's offense did against Michigan.

And yes, I think Ryan Mallett is a better QB than Anthony Morelli. Just because he's a freshman and is only starting his second game doesn't mean he's a worse quarterback. It just means he hasn't started as many games in college.

In addition to that, Mike Hart >>>>> Austin Scott and Mario Manningham is a better WR than anybody on Penn State. Michigan has a better offense and the defenses are probably comparable with Penn State's being a little better but not enough to make up for the gap in the two offenses.

Like I said, Michigan will win this game.

It is very strange wanting to watch illinois football again. I hope we do well this week.

Syracuse is terrible and the worst team in our long long history. I'm glad that you Illinois guys are happy to be 2-1 but you just beat a team that is worse than Buffalo.

So whats your point? I keep seeing people say this, but do you people not realize that we as Illinois fans are happy because in the previous years, we are what Syracuse is. However we actually won this game, unlike years past, and we as Illinois fans arent expecting a NC this year, but we do know our team is very talented, and has another top recruiting class on its way. Its been quite awhile that Illinois fans have even wanted to mention the word football. We are on the right track, and its extremely exciting watching these young talented kids coming in.

I'm happy for you guys and you do seem to be on the right track. I'm just telling you that you just beat a horrible team who would lose to a bunch of D2 teams. I apologize if this sounded like you guys are not that good, I suppose I was just trying to guard your enthusiasm a little but you're right, have fun with it and enjoy the ride.

I am just telling you that we actually have talent on our team now. Syracuse may suck, we don't care. We are taking steps in the right direction and that is a good thing as our basketball program is sprinting in the other direction.

I can easily see Michigan beating Penn State by double digits.

Well 7/15 and 90 yards really showed what he can do!!

This thread and Anthony Morelli being a horrible QB has convinced me to pick UM this week. I'm gonna be laughed out of my pool.

i'm as big a morelli basher as anyone, but he's been pretty good this year. 8 TD, 1 INT, 63% completion. he can go all grossman on you under pressure, but let's not paint him as some horribly incompetent QB

He's had to face the defensive powers Florida International, Buffalo and Notre Dame so far this year. And he had a 54.5 comp% with a whopping 131 passing yards against ND.

Last year he had a comp% of 53.9 for the year and had only 11 TD's in 13 games. He had 0 TD passes in 6 of their 13 games last year. Do you know how many TD passes he had against UM, UW, and OSU last year? 0.

There were 88 other quarterbacks in Division I-A with a better QB rating last year than Morelli had and 71 QB's with more TD passes than he had.

And I'm going to guess that Morelli is going to be under a hell of a lot more pressure from Michigan's defense than he was under in his first three games this year.

PSU's refusal to throw the ball downfield is a little maddening this year. Everything seems to be underneath routes and screens. Perhaps Galen Hall (OC) has zero faith in Morelli's accuracy downfield

I don't think LSU's defense is going to give up that many points. It may be a game if the old ball coach can control LSU's offense, but the [expletive] won't score more than 17 on LSU unless the offense makes turn-overs and gives them a short field a few times.

I think LSU is going to pound South Carolina into the ground. (Sorry Slugger_16 and AI.)

I predicted them to win the title in the preseason and in my mind their ceiling is the highest of the 4 elite teams.

Penn State has to be at least 10 points better to overcome the refs.

Henne's not starting this week either?

not that Morelli is any good, but Henne is second only to Carr for UM's consistent underachievement the past few years.

I just assumed that Mallett will be starting. Not sure though.

Henne has been upgraded from week-to-week to day-to-day

Pat Forde has an article on the top four teams.

Link.

I liked this about LSU.

Opponents have run the ball 91 times at the LSU defense. Only five of those carries have gone for 10 or more yards. Only one has gone for more than 12.

Good article. I will say this, LSU hasn't played anyone as good as us this season. Our rushing attack is better, if not significantly better, than VTech. I still think it will be tough to hang with the Bengals, but we have the best chance of anyone so far.

i "accidentally" bumped into juice while crossing the street today

highlight of the week to this point, but it is only wednesday

I saw him every so often in the dining halls last year.

I think my roommate is in a class with Arrelious Benn, but I'm not sure.

I will never forget in the game that Paterno chased down the ref, He must of told him about the obvious trap that a Penn St receiver got called a reception early in their last drive. Somehow I sure am he and the other Penn St fans havent been complaining about that call for 4 years. Only the one where their receiver caught the ball but was ruled out of bounds.

Penn St gets just as many good calls as Michigan or Notre Dame or Michigan St or Illinois. They probably arent crying about the ones going in their favor. Only the ones that go against them. The truth is Michigan has been a better team than Penn St for the last 8 yrs or so. If your team would focus on that instead of "refs" you might actually get better.
